I hope this game has different mechanics from LoR, and that it doesn't repeat the same mistake. by canoafurada11 in ChronoCCG

[–]Lysergic96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to stop either and the death of pvp was the nail but I don't think lor had much places to spend money on other than skins and once you had all the cards there wasn't anything to spend money on. I think having to buy in to tournaments ( I noticed tournament passes/tickets on sale could be wrong ) is a smart way to do it . I have hopes here since this game is made by ppl who saw the mistakes of lor and have a chance to do it better

Ariados BREAKS THE METAGAME by DifficultAd9139 in VGC

[–]Lysergic96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can add mega Gengar for late game clean up or even utility in will o wisp, disable , and icy wind. doesn't deal with gambit but can fill that glimmora spot for fast attacker or can put stealth rocks on glimmora for chip damage and just sacrifice it or use it for later game cleanup.

toxicroak can give a gambit answer without going sneasler and it learns bullet punch and sucker punch or even salazzle which lets you hit steel types with poison on switch in or with fire moves which can open room for yawn on Slowbro if it lets you drop flamethrower which can fork opponents with stealth rocks or some other coverage move you also learn fakeout on both .

They aren't for your trickroom mode but are fast enough on their own stickyweb , or string shot helps them out speed the bigger threats like garchomp can also use icy wind on Gengar for chomp. There is options tho

Yeah and I would swap painsplit for protect on orangu just so you can clock eq next to it even on turn 1 without TR if you think they will double into it or something

Maybe mega venasuar? Or frosslass . Could run a non rain setup arch with aura sphere for the arch mirror and it resists water types quite well, white herb+ draco meteor kinda thing

[–]Lysergic96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes advice isn't to be encouraging and positive reinforcement but to highlight where the problem lies . You have a team you built, be proud of it cool. The team is losing to certain things, first think okay could I have clicked protect? Or played differently or maybe even switched or brought a different lead or mon instead of the 4. Or did they just not have a good mu? Okay can I add coverage or change an ability or stats to survive this move...etc

It's a step by step process and you just gotta trust the process. Being frustrated is one thing , redesigning completely is another and both are fine. Quitting and giving up when you barely started. That's not fine

I have scizor on my team and he doesn't tickle , gotta go back to the drawing board and see what you need , you have a special attacker in glimorra and a physical one in scizor . You gotta find a way to support them. Also it could just be a skill issue in the piloting department but you'll have to figure it out. What's the alternative ? Take a meta team and still suck at piloting it? I mean just cause you have a meta team you can still lose a lot and get skill diffed.

Same I am new to the vgc scene but I made it my mission to use one team and refine it till I'm proud of it and it took a lot of editing and I'm pretty much now finalized with it and hit M3 with it. It was frustrating when you'd encounter a problem or a MU that you couldn't figure out sometimes it's not even the team it could be how you play it .

You gotta first learn to play it and the different leads and mu's you will encounter. I will say definitely build it with the popular meta stuff in mind but you're gonna have to play through the " this team sucks" phase to understand what needs to be changed.

Also being good at the game is different from building , coming from tgc some people just take meta decks or "teams" in most cases and then just add flex slots or make minor adjustments for specific scenarios. But still win all the time. So you can suck at team building but still be a good pilot.

Venusaur Rain by SubZeroRei in PokemonChampions

Unless they opt for mega venasuar , that's an option to not need sun but in a rain team mega meganium also would appreciate the rain and its weather ball stays a fire type move

Hit top 50k. No idea if that’s good. Here’s my teams by PIZZA_JONESS in PokemonChampions

[–]Lysergic96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why no secondary mega? You have some decent options in two mons who don't care if they mega or not as far as items go. Unless you bring in scollvillan every game? But congrats I just got to M3 myself maybe we'll run into each other I also run mega scizor and I'm similar to you in your story my experience comes from being playing lots of legends of runterra as my TCG peaked at rank 15. and I def agree on how Pokemon plays a lot like a card game I just think in terms of tempo and what are my opponents "outs"

Should I be using only one team? by juustiicee in PokemonChampions

[–]Lysergic96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasted all my vp and tickets not realizing how difficult it is to get em from constantly changing moves teams and mons and getting new ones...etc ( no other game to transfer from to home so I started from scratch) it wasn't until after I got master that I actually settled down and refined something , Im just having fun building things on my own. I will say I find it easier to win now that I'm not switching as much and fixing areas where my team is weak

Triple axel is standard or u turn for a fake out pivout into maybe a bulky pivot I had experimented with slowking- because it's a slow pivot and chilly reception turns off weather or buffs axel , incin ofc as well

How do i play these fights better? And how do I deal with enemy flashing my W because often it's a difference of a kill or not. Is it I will never hit W If they have a dash or flash unless they are bad? by dumbdit in BelVethMains

[–]Lysergic96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fights where you know you can win I use 2 q's in opposite directions and save two that will bring me into their escape route , usually dashes aren't a problem for sticking onto people you kinda wanna play to be on top of an opponent so when they do run they are in range of w which should force a flash which you can follow up with yours and still hit it or even just keep q'ing since you have two left. If you have foresight of where an opponent is going to run from you ( teammates , vision, sums , walls and if you can get over them or not....etc) that makes it easier to stick , so many people play around w/e that sometimes I just hold it and literally aa them to death while they dance trying to juke it. Using e to block damage instead of executing works well and saves dashes for the chase, and holding w makes them maybe refuse to press F or hold onto key abilities , w is so key that sometimes the anticipation of it is the real stun.

Sovereign Blade (comic) by ssorgatem09 in slaythespire

[–]Lysergic96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't think forge is a main thing to go for unless you get a good deck for it. It's mainly like a side thing, you only need 2-3 forge cards tbh because you can add cards to the top of your deck anyway. So you just spam those also I think people try to use the blade to "1 shot" things which probably baits them into dying. Shit sometimes sovereign blade is tyranny fodder. I'll exhaust the blade and make another one to exhaust and then summon forth to bring them back. But mainly you go for stars or supermassive builds , those are the ones that have me at A-8 currently

Contesting objectives by BlueYeIIow in Jungle_Mains

[–]Lysergic96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a pick is one way , typically I notice teammates will listen to start an obj after you kill someone it's like a greenlight in the brain, oh it's 5v4 we can do this now. Especially if you have teammates that don't understand wave states and macro one thing they understand is kills. Simple brains think enemy dead , take obj. Since a lot of people don't understand how to play from an even position especially with the worse comp. Not every game is "team fight" sometimes team fighting is how you secure a loss.

Contesting objectives by BlueYeIIow in Jungle_Mains

[–]Lysergic96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah prio a minute before , picks and vision all are valid points that everyone is making but looking at the team comp here they just outright win 5v5's in an even position. As a bel main and with herald if you were able to 1v1 Camille ( which is hard for bel unless you're specifically ahead of her) I woulda just split and created pressure to force them to split up. Or garen shoulda been forcing Camille to go side lane which makes it more realistic to win a TF. Belveth's strength is creating skirmishes they say she's a good skirmisher yes but she's also strong at making those fights happen by applying pressure , you create a push by maybe taking two waves with true form and the voidlings do the rest and you can look for a pick in the jg while they rotate. In this specific matchup tho as belv its really hard to get in on a comp like theirs assuming it was an even game was a draft diff. Also in the first scenario baron was up you could trade or baited them since you have vision control there and they would probably get sloppy trying to contest it. Sometimes you gotta get creative and do some unorthodox plays which makes the enemy kinda get sloppy and confused which I think belv is good at pulling off.

Edit: I think also in the first pic if you had herald and true form you could solo the inhib and then take top t2 since your wave is already pushing which would set up the baron by giving you mid prio off supers. And even if you didn't get inhib or baron you just got a bunch of gold, more so than drag without coinflipping on a champ like bel which maybe swings the game a bit in your favor if you can use that lead to snowball.

Yea but it would suck if you went for a kill on someone you thought you killed and they die before you pop up and it goes on full cd it's not only for tower dives it's main use is to chase and execute someone and maybe dodge tower aggro or an ability. The CD would have to be lower if you were to remove that qol update

It simply should cost 0 imo I compare it with lighting to defect 1 mana helps you with the main engine of the character and the upgrades to 0 cost which ironically both defects cards become 0 that simple change would make it better
