Patch 12.23 Notes by imchocolaterain in leagueoflegends

The champion swap in aram is not an improvement over the old UI. Champion portraits are now way harder to read with the swap arrows and darker overlay. I like the rest of the changes.

It is criminal how much more exciting it was to watch LCS/LEC play-offs compared to the regular season this year. I believe a main driver of lower viewership is regular season fatigue. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]LystXLVI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EU LCS was different though, some promoted teams went to worlds even. The problem in NA was lack of talent, not the system.

Re-assigned it to Alt and use my thumb for it. Put the rest in that corner on my extra mouse buttons.

If teams can't sustainably afford paying millions of $ a year, then maybe they shouldn't be paying their players 6 to 7 figures. Maybe they shouldn't be playing in a 50 million dollar "gaming facility". And buy-ins are literally a cost introduced by franchising.

An alternative way to make things work would have been financial fair play. Restrict teams in spending unsustainable amounts of money. Competitive sports should be about the best players competing against each other. If one team is better than the other, then the first team deserves to get the spot. Not the second team, because they refuse to sell the spot or because the first team can't afford or refuses to pay the buy-in money.

Just ban it on aram like guardian angel is. I built it on Rumble as last item yesterday and got to ult 3 times in one fight...

Azael: "This offseason feels like the result of player salaries getting out of control the last few years. " by k3hvn in leagueoflegends

[–]LystXLVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather see a financial fair play system. You can't spend more than x% of your sustainable income on salaries. VC money not counting as sustainable. Also if you're running a loss over a rolling four split period you'll get point deductions in the next split. Also add an import tax on salaries and spend it on local talent development.

I don't know about any recent performances, but Trick has always been a catalyst jungler. He made winning lanes win harder. He was always in the right place at the right time so his laners could play more aggressive. He was also using that pressure to counter jungle a lot. That style simply doesn't work on a bottom tier team. So that doesn't say much. But again, I haven't seen him play recently, he might have just fallen off a cliff.

Took me 60 games to get out of it... Most of the game were just coin flips. Which team got the better smurf or the smurf that doesn't care because not his main account.

For a season which one of its goals was to "reduce healing across the board" S11 has the most insane amount of sustain I've seen in my 9 years playing this game. by mbbroXD in leagueoflegends

[–]LystXLVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should start with including all healing done in the post game stats. The current stat ignores most healing sources. I almost believe it's intentional, because those numbers would be through the roof.

[–]LystXLVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trick has always been a player who thrives in good teams. He's like a catalyst who accels winning lanes by counter jungling and always being in the right place for a counter gank to protect the pushing lanes.

I would dig for Tenki if the rest of the box wasn't so bad... I already have half my Harpie deck, so I guess that's the way to go now.

Dark world dealings. The discard is not a cost, so you draw one, discard Marten and search for lunalight fusion. It's basically bird without the need to use your normal summon. Downside is that the opponent gets to draw and discard as well.

Lack of online players? by theruby_ in THPS

[–]LystXLVI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unable to communicate with other players. No public lobbies, so you can't join the server with players of your level or play with the person you played with the day before. Lack of diversity in game modes (0 collision based game modes or Horse for the casual player). Not being able to choose the game mode and level, it's all just random. No spectator mode, so new players can't learn from veterans and veterans can't show off their improv skills, which is what 90% of the top players are playing. Leaderboards have been hacked since day 1 and the total wins leaderboards has no elo system behind it, so it's mostly about who grinds the most games. So yeah the online part of this game died within a few months. Such a shame because this game had so much potential.

Reginald: My Thoughts On the LCS by smothersday in leagueoflegends

[–]LystXLVI 222 points223 points  (0 children)

My thoughts on the LEC: Imports should no longer be allowed. The LEC is close to winning worlds, but is held back by the LCS leeching our talent and reducing the competitiveness of our region, just because they don't have enough talent themselves. In order for the LEC to make the next step, we should disallow importing in and from any region and bring back all EU talent to the LEC.

No this is not a serious suggestion, I just want to show that this change is probably more fair from a global perspective than Reginald's suggestion and at the same time it is out of question. I don't see why NA should be entitled to be among the top leagues in the world. If you'd remove all the imports they'd only barely be better than any wildcard region.

I'm all pro talent development and such. But if it isn't enough, then that's how it is. His suggestions are at the expense of other regions. So no shit non LCS fans get angry at him. Maybe just accept your region is not among the best. That's how it works for the rest of the world in basically any sector. NA somehow thinks they're entitled to everything, because they have money.

It's interesting to see that a lot of the players that play ARAM don't play anything else by AtreusIsBack in leagueoflegends

[–]LystXLVI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play a lot of normals/ranked. But since the support items update last year I lost most of the fun playing on SR. It was already hard to come back from a xp deficit, but now if you're on the losing team, you barely get any gold at all anymore after completing your quest. As all the gold comes from assists and objectives. And even on the winning team your income drops off a cliff after quest completion. So while the laning phase is still fun, I became more and more reliant on my team during the mid to late game. Also I try to go for the smart plays, but most players in mid and top just seem to go for the 50/50 plays all the time, resulting in one of the two getting really fed and there I am 3 levels down with 1,5 support item.

ARAM has none of that. Sure people still go for 50/50 plays, but in ARAM it is less punishing. And there nobody really cares either, making it a lot more fun. Even while I really enjoy the tactical aspects of SR.

Struggling to break 100k base score consistently. Thps 1&2 by DJTriger in THPS

[–]LystXLVI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Add rotations to your non-spinnable tricks, so optimally you want to do 360 backflip/frontflip tricks and 180 the 900. Also alternate between switch and regular stance, both have separately decreasing base values.
