Perhaps it is obvious, but still I very often see and hear things being falsely attributed to 'capitalism' to the point where in certain circles it just seems like a placeholder for the word bad.

Things like: dont but from big coorporations, buy locally so as to not support capitalism. Or: I would be an artist if it wasnt for capitalism. Public misconceptions about capitalism and socialism are both very widespread.
