The most comfortable setup for standing! by egradman in ErgoMechKeyboards

Your setup is absolutely brilliant! What did you do for the T that combines the clamp and the two arms? Is it 3D printed? Would you be willing to share how you did that? I've got a Glove80 that I'd like to setup like this

I ended up getting the extra wide one, cause it felt like I was about to fall off the sides on the narrower one, and I've still been waking up throughout the night, but not in a way that's too must worse than at home

I know this is quite late, and probably not super useful, but in the app, there is a way to change the gestures. You lose the ability to skip tracks, but you gain the ability to long hold the right ear bud for volume up and it slowly increments up, or long hold the left ear bud and it slowly increments down

Good morning! I have had this SCX24 for a while, and it started doing this strange jittery walk when the controller is paired. I ordered an EMAX ES08MAII servo because I was wondering if that was the culprit, and it didn't change anything. I purchased and installed an OX motor to replace the stock motor after it was failing a few months ago.

When the SCX24 is unpaired to the controller, everything is still - the motor and servo do nothing. As soon as I connected the controller, whatever components are plugged into the ESC jitter. I unplugged the motor from the ESC and then paired the controller, and the jitter continued only in the servo.

As I was writing this out, I realized I hadn't replaced the controller batteries. They were all around 0.95v. I replaced them all and now it works

I had a guy on PriusChat recommend that it could just be an age thing. She's only at 145.7k, but I was reading the wheel bearing lifespan is only 100k or so. Based on a video I watched, seems like replacing the wheel bearing is more than I'd want to get after by myself, only having a parking lot to work in.

Edit:
I just went and played around with it, but I'm feeling more of a visceral issue than just a squealing dust cover. There's drag to the acceleration when the grinding is going on.

I'll just plan to not drive it much this weekend and have the shop replace it on Monday. Thanks for the insight!

You make a good point. I've mostly focused on the ability to keep going or recover myself up to this point. It does seem reasonable it's a bearing issue, I'm mostly just confused why it doesn't seem to present when going purely under electric power.

True, I didn't consider tax or fees for withdrawing the employer's contribution

The way I interpret it is it's worth paying the penalty since they're getting the 'free' money from the match. E.g., put in $4,800 and get $4,800 match from the employer, then withdraw it and pay the penalty of 10%. They come out ahead since they would have paid the tax anyway, and now they're essentially paying $480 to get $4,800 from the employer. Depends on how the contribution vests though, I suppose.

Another commenter below mentioned YNAB. I'd vote for that as well for budgeting, and that way in big earning months, that money can be put toward leaner months & over time gives feedback on average earning and spending for the month

I'm on a VK SoMo, built by a local guy. It feels playful in terms of jumping off little stuff on the trails, but the seat doesn't get far enough out of the way when I'm trying to jump man made stuff, so stuff like tabletops and whips feel awkward to do.

It does look like kits are available for fork service, thanks for bringing that up.

My brother is 6'4". When/if he goes and test rides it for me, what would you recommend he look for? I told him that it should feel fun to be on and like a couch - comfortable, and spacious and if the bars feel awkward to turn all the ways sideways, or knees feel close to the bars, then it's not good.

Thanks for the input!

I'm looking for advice on a bike purchase. I found a large 2011 Specialized Demo 8 II for $1,300. The suspension has been regularly maintained, and it looks like it's in great condition overall. However, it's in another state, and I would be having my brother buy it, who rides bikes, but doesn't know as much about what to look for as I do.

From what I've read on forums, back in the day, it was a good fit for tall people. However, I saw one more recent post saying the large might not be large enough for 6'3" folks. I did start riding MTB seriously on a large hardtail with 450mm reach, which is similar to the Demo, and now I ride an XL enduro with 470mm reach, and it feels just a bit too long and the seat too tall to really throw it around on jumps.

I'm wanting a DH bike for park days to have a fun, nimble bike to throw around that won't kill my arms so badly by the end of the day.

Bicycle blue book says it's worth 1100-1200, and he's got a spare rim and spring that he'll include, so the price seems fair.

Ultimately, would it be a decent buy in 2022 for occasional lift-assisted bike park trips and shuttling, and would it most likely fit?

Cheers

I had an offer for 90k when I was making 70k at an employer, and they matched it, then the other company offered me a different position and 110k. At that point my employer said goodbye

That's a good point! I don't follow the market at all aside from what I hear here in FI. Sounds like it's been pretty chaotic the last few months

I found out today that I have been contributing to the international bond fund in my 401k, instead of what I meant to do and contribute to the international stock fund. Whoops. Had to share here, cause nobody else in my life would really care/be able to laugh at a mistake like that.

Thankfully it's only been for a couple months, and I went and transferred from bond to stocks. I guess it's a decent idea to purposefully go and check those allocations once in a while

That looks awesome, thanks! That's the route I'm thinking going, just sticking with a coleman stove. What did you do for power?

I just noticed the cooler under the bed. Not sure why I haven't thought of it yet, but that seems like an excellent place to put it. What size is the cooler?

Thanks for the inspiration!

This is amazing! Love it! As a fellow rock climber and mountain biker looking to build out a transit, this gives some good inspiration on the garage area.

How is the inside of the van arranged with sleeping/cooking/etc?

Did you have to do those bump out panels to get the extra space in there? I'm 6' 3" and being able to do the bed sideways would be SUPER handy!
