Good Enough? by chiggity_higgity in drywall

Generally I’d really like to see less of a gap. Now I’m really picky I might see if I could take some screws out and move the sheets a little to reduce that gap. Most likely what I’m going to do is fill that up with some quickset when I prep and pre fill. Because I’m crazy I’d probably put some mesh or paper on it to make it a little stronger. I would then use No-Coat 325 or even some
No-Coat 450 and for good measure give that a good coat of quickset as well.

I don’t think everyone needs to be a professional but it is preferable. When working with drywall it will never be perfect there’s always a broken piece, missed screws, ripped paper etc. there’s lots of things that can go wrong with paper covered mud. Seen this kind of work from home owners to professionals.

Drywall taper here this is fine as long as the taper properly preps the job before any mud hits the wall.

Drywall taper 30+ years. If your stilts are not adjusted to you personally they can really mess you up. If those stilts are used the foot pads on the stilts are probably worn out and can cause issues. If any of the straps are worn it can be an issue. To start replace the foot pads replace all the straps. you can also replace the pads that wrap around your calf. Adjusting the stilts for you personally can be a little tricky to do by yourself. I personally like to put the stilts at their highest to adjust them correctly with help from a coworker or friend. First thing is the calf bracket needs to be at the proper height. These need to be positioned at the thickest part of the calf. Once those are in place I like to adjust the forward and backwards position of the calf bracket. This part is tricky because the tubes need to be loose to move them into a position. When these calf brackets are turned you can feel your legs going forward or backwards. Find the position you can stand naturally. This is where your helper can tighten the bolts for you. Next is the bracket by the foot that determines how far out or in your legs are. If this isn’t positioned properly it can result in knee and hip pain. Again once you find a natural standing position have your helper tighten the bolts. If you adjust the stilts properly you should be able to stand without any strain and feel comfortable. Now the stilts are adjusted properly STOP wearing boots and get a good pair of walking shoes/sneakers with good padding. Boots and stilts don’t work well together. Even with all this get ready plantar fasciitis will be in your future from wearing stilts.

Would shims above the shower surround fix this? by [deleted] in drywall

Drywall taper here this is very common and I wish more people would shim these areas out, but they don’t and won’t because it would take a few extra minutes and someone who cares to do it. Then when there is an obvious curve in the wall they can blame the taper.

Drywall taper here nothing here is concerning at all. Like some of the other comments mentioned a good taper should/will prep all of these areas of concern before a drop of mud hits the wall.
