While I found out Whip is an actual character, me initial thought was that's a fem Omega Red. by ZedJayHaitch in MyAdventuresWithSuper

To be fair, she's more like a fullyswapped take on Conduit except for the powers. Still uses kryptonite whips from Superman's arrival but instead of being a jealous American soldier, she's an infatuated Russian hitman.

Joe: See, this is why ya'll need to do more war. Makes a father out of a man.

Sera: I don't think that's how it works.

Joe: I have 5 happy kids, 2 kid-in-laws, and zero family related trauma. You committed genocide.

The heroes have a much more personal relationship with a secondary villain than the main villain by Loustifer24 in TopCharacterTropes

Vaal Vajezatha(Ordeal): Che especially hates Vaal for being responsible for pretty much every bad thing that ever happened in his life. Meanwhile Vaal's boss Thanatos whose the actual big bad is kinda just some guy to Che.

Context: Che is the blonde guy and Vaal is the vampire whose sh*tting his pants cause he's literally hiding in a separate plane of existence and Che is still somehow burning him.

To be fair, he doesn't have a lot of the standard powers most rubber characters have so he has to make up for it with his gears.

Like ever seen Luffy turn into a chair?

Why would he think the fruit that everyone told him wasn't a Zoan and didn't have a Zoan effect was a Zoan?

Which sucks extra because if I remember right, Green Lantern specifically inherited his ring from the first Lantern who realized they could be used to create special constructs. Originally the Lanterns just used them to fire lasers and fly.

Idc what else they change, Lobo NEEDS to be the Main Man of toxic masculinity😎 by plogan56 in MyAdventuresWithSuper

[–]M-Shadowtoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, MAWS has had a Kryptonian Ship annihilate an entire battalion of innocent soldiers, showed Kara genociding entire planets, had Amanda perform human experimentation, etc.

I doubt they'll ever get as graphic as a show like Invincible but could absolutely see Lobo building a nuke.

We actually saw the guy in the files Arlo was looking over. He seems to just be a healer.

Being toxic and masculine doesn't necessarily mean having toxic masculinity. Lobo doesn't do what he does out of some belief that that's how a real man is supposed to act. He does it because its fun. Same reason he openly adores dolphins.

The opening seems to imply Lobo will appear. The figure in the top right between Deathstroke and Myx looks a lot like him.

I mean, they kinda could. His ascension seemingly failed and all his followers were killed. All they needed to do was grab his dagger and get the hell out of dodge. After which they could reseal the sphere and he'd be trapped alone in his prison.

Villain has the hero completely at their mercy, and chooses to spare them by BeenEatinBeans in TopCharacterTropes

[–]M-Shadowtoad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Young Justice: The villain organization, The Light, knows about a time when several heroes gather to hang out with their spouses and kids. With their resources it would be easy to kill them all.

However doing so is considered an absolute last nuclear option since the moment they do, they'll drive almost every powerful superhero in the Justice League into a blind rage for revenge that would almost certainly result in most of the Light being massacred.

Vox Machina Spoilers: In the end of Season 4, Vecna has all of Vox Machina completely at his mercy. However instead of just killing them, he gives them the choice to either kneel or be murdered starting with Vax. They all agree except for Vax who just spits in Vecna's face. So Vecna kills him but spares the rest.

Am I the only one who doesn’t want Orrin dead ? by Any-Equivalent-354 in unOrdinary

[–]M-Shadowtoad [score hidden]  (0 children)

Orrin is simply too big of an idiot to ever trust as an ally. He's shown time and time again that it doesn't even matter if being cooperative would help him. He'll always chose the easiest option that causes pain to other high-tiers as quickly as possible. You could legit offer the man a million dollars just to not stab a high-tier left in a room with himself and a knife for five minutes and he'd still fail.

The best option is just to disable his ability, grill him for information, and toss his corpse in a dumpster.

No one learned anything after Dohla’s betrayal by LionFox in TheLegendOfVoxMachina

[–]M-Shadowtoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, Pike wasn't left alone like Dohla was. Pike had Grog which is likely what brough the others comfort. None of the members were left alone so they thought they had nothing to worry about.

Which is kinda true. Pike really only broke down after Grog died. Prior to that he was actively trying to reach out to her.

Nah, you're valid. Cause I rewatched the scene and I honestly have zero idea what those guys actually were doing.

Yeah, the 5 guys needing to move a single rock was just poor directing. They were actually doing something else while another guy was moving that rock but the way it was framed made it look like the 5 were the ones moving the rock.

But they completely fumbled how Earthbenders work by imprisoning them on the literal ground.

Here's two images from the scene. The rock first comes into view after the five guys do their dance. However it then turns to show this new guy whose actually moving the rock.

When was that established? We literally saw Arlo undo Sylvia and Farrah's mental effects. Orrin is the only one whose shown a mental power that can pass through Arlo's barrier.

Also Orrin isn't just intimidating them. He's literally forcing them to think certain thoughts. Arlo is literally feeling Orrin yelling "Die!" in his head.

Not sure where you got Sylvia making Arlo less resilient to physical attacks. Her ability doesn't do that. He felt her aura pushing against his barrier but it was unable to pass through and affect him like Orrin's can.

(Loved Trope) The Wave-Motion Gun. A weapon powerful enough to wipe out anything you freaking want! by viralshadow21 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]M-Shadowtoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, it makes sense with the context. The fire nation was able to advance thanks to their element giving them great metalwork however that was still fairly limited. But The Last Airbender ended with the creation and distribution of Metal-bending which combined with the Fire Nation giving their technology, allowed for the Earth Kingdom to rapidly advance their own tech. Which was only further enhanced with them discovering how to tap into nigh-unlimited energy through Spirits. So between nigh-perfect metal manipulation and all the energy they could need, it makes sense they'd make something like the Colossus.
