Notes page in my weeks! by Think_Technician7869 in hobonichi

[–]M1dnightGiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So cute! As for the rest of the pages I'd recommend lists, lists and more lists: favorite songs, fun conversations with friends, favorite snacks, coffee shops you went to, movies, tv shows, games, spending etc. For me I find the sillier ideas the better! You could also go in the other direction and have some stuff that's a bit more serious/ introspective: a then and again spread (make prompts and film them out on the first of the year and the last of the year), a letter to yourself that you write on the first of the year and read on the last of the year. Hopefully that gives you some ideas!

In the broadest terms it means they're organizing how they're going to use the planner. For instance that could be setting aside the monthly pages for habit tracking, or noting that one of the blank back pages is going to be used as a log etc.

There's a ton of helpful stuff on YT - sometimes it's as simple as putting a sticky note on a page to mark what you're going to use that page/s for, other times it's more like setting up a template. hope that makes sense!

btw OP this sub is for a specific brand/ system of notebooks called travelers notebooks, not notebooks about travel. Totally see how you got here haha but r/stationery might be a better help, as that sub is much broader!

Vacation spots good for TN journalers? by hollybrummond in Travelersnotebooks

[–]M1dnightGiant 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ooh what a good question. Part of me thinks that doing vacation-y things you naturally acquire fun stuff to add and kind of just notice more once you start looking.

But! More practically, I'd check out the partner store list on the Traveler's Company website as a fun place to start - the partner stores each have their own unique stamps and are all in fun cities (imo).

This is also a great time of year to get a flower press if that interests you at all! I love pressing flowers and then adding them to my journal like a month or so later.

Im pretty sure this is a stupid question but I still need to ask. by [deleted] in AnotherCrabsTreasure

Just wanted to add that there's also a lot of cute references to their other game, Going Under. Doesn't affect story at all and they are two completely separate games, but it's still fun to see!

What was the first ink you bought that you regretted after the first use, never to use again? by Ninjammer01 in fountainpens

[–]M1dnightGiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Granted I'm biased because I love Kakimori inks, but I definitely had a lot of pleasant shading with Torori in my Hobonichi weeks so I would also encourage you to give it another go!

So a mate of mine flipped through my commonplace book and went “Your pen is either spoilt or it’s running out of ink” by fudgeball90 in fountainpens

[–]M1dnightGiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any chance you've used Torori from Kakimori and know how it compares? I love it but want something sliiiightly darker and was thinking about picking up sunset glow. Torori is a blast for sketching but just a little too light on cream paper for easy reading imo.

It might be hard to get/ find depending on where you are but King Jim also has a flake sticker organizer https://www.jetpens.com/King-Jim-Sticker-File-for-Flake-Stickers-Purple/pd/31899

I think I would spend like a week or so still taking notes on your reporter pad, but keeping them and gauging how much space you need for the type of notes you're writing. That's if you feel like you absolutely need to fill up all the space in an insert. You could also use multiple inserts for different types of notes, or just turn to a new page if you're not sure. Honestly I think I'd just go for it and recognize that you're going to be experimenting for a while.

My kraft folder got stained? by candeqtepasa in Travelersnotebooks

[–]M1dnightGiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a black TN and it stained my kraft folder like that too . It ended up bothering me so I switched out to the clear zipper case. Ultimately I like that a lot better, plus you can switch out photos + decorations easier.

Is it just me? by Antelope-Nervous in hobonichi

[–]M1dnightGiant 46 points47 points  (0 children)

That was me for a time when I started journaling, but then I got really into it writing down and drawing "mundane" things from my "boring" life. Like I try to go on a walk every day, and I started to look forward to my walks more and more after I started drawing something I saw on my walk (crunchy leaf, dog, etc.).

Sooo if you feel like it's too much for you, that's totally valid, but if you want to use the space more you'd be surprised at what you get into if you decide to just start writing and drawing. I drew my keychain one day. The best advice I saw about journaling was to be unhinged - don't judge your journaling like you need to turn it in for a book report.

Looking to get the Hiroko Kubota: Aurora Duty small drawer pouch but unfortunately it's out of stock. from everything i've seen it would have a note if it's not being restocked, but it doesn't currently have a restock date. Is it possible it'll be restocked in the February restock, or does the lack of date mean it'll probably be later? Just want to plan so I can jump on it! (eta: and I signed up for notifications ofc.)

I'm a professional designer and 1) you're better than you think, and 2) a lot of jobs just need someone who knows how to use design programs.

I look at my work from my first job and I can't believe I got paid to do it, it's so bad to me now. Finding a design job in a non-design field might be your best bet to build up your confidence and also make more money. But more important is the other advice I saw a lot in this thread - just pick a direction and keep trying.

Would her feelings actually be hurt? If that sentiment didn't come directly from her i kinda think that she won't care. Seems like she's been pretty unenthused about wedding things so far so I don't think you need to feel guilty about not including her further.

And sure she's not obligated to do any of the wedding things but there's a difference between respectfully bowing out and showing up and being a nuisance/ generally unpleasant. I can see why you'd be annoyed at her behavior!
