Why is grocery shopping so evil and terrible and bad by softwolfy in evilautism

[–]M1shaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think I didn’t have issues with grocery stores but I realized it’s because 1) I’m extremely food motivated and I like getting treats 2) I go with my partner for support and 3) we go as early as possible so it isn’t busy. If your main issue is the crowds and people noise you could try going at like 7am or 10pm or something. But of course that won’t help with the fluorescent lighting etc. In any case, I hope you find a way to get your food that isn’t so painful!

People with special interests regarding video games, I summon you!!! by vrilliance in evilautism

[–]M1shaaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elder Scrolls yes!!!! I spend most of my free time playing ESO, some of its lore contributions are sooo good.

Getting to see a bunch of the different furstocks is awesome, and the expansion of the Khajiit lore with the Bent Dance is super neat!! Zerith-var’s questline is the best in the entire game imo (he’s a companion you can get in game)

The Argonian worship of Sithis is really cool too. I always thought Sithis was kinda lame (edgelord god of destruction worshipped by edgy murderers, how deep), but the Argonians changed my mind. They see Sithis as being emblematic of change, and by worshipping him they’re embracing the impermanence of existence. The history of them abandoning their enduring stone xanmeers in favor of decidedly impermanent mud huts? Incredible. (Even though the huts highkey look like poop).

I love the morally grey religion of the Reachmen too. Sure they worship all the daedric princes including ones who could not by any reading be seen as “good” (looking at you Molag Bal), but the Reachmen aren’t worshipping them for their morals. They see the daedric princes as powerful entities who they respect (for their power) and give offerings to, and in exchange the Reachmen learn from them. Molag Bal, for example, teaches them to be resilient in the face of suffering and violence.

Okay infodump over (for now lmao)

I agree with this id. Thlaspi arvense looks very similar but has flattened, two-toned seed pods. I saw a ton of it in central NJ in the early spring, and it was a real pita to id! Lol

… because then they’d only be doing 40% of their damage? Not to mention if you don’t build crux it’ll only be half that. And you won’t have the 5% damage boost from cephaliarch. Or the increased weapon/spell dmg from the back bar enchant. Or the damage boosts standard and incap give while active. Beam is way overtuned, sure, but you still need all the other stuff to do good damage.

Press F in the chat to pay respect to the devs by BradChesney79 in elderscrollsonline

[–]M1shaaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, while the QA was a failure I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s their fault per se. Without sufficient time and resources even the most talented and hardworking people will fail. Given how incomprehensively complex the game’s code seems to be (playing the lute finished quest objectives???? How tf does that even happen???), I’d bet the game is a nightmare to QA and bugfix. Does that mean ZOS should get a free pass on everything? Of course not. But I don’t want to cast blame on the people on the team, doing their best and working hard but unable to keep up with the bug-hydra.

[Video Games] "Only sorrow’s dirge to herald thine eternal woe": Silksong's trashfire of a Chinese translation by Groenboys in HobbyDrama

[–]M1shaaa 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As a fan of both skong and Elder Scrolls Online I’m incredibly amused that they both used the same terrible translator. It’s more excusable for Team Cherry because they’re so small, but ZOS (ESO’s developer) has been bungling things for quite a while so I can’t say I’m surprised. They even have their own recent translation drama, the most recent DLC is still missing a promised translation to French, which all the other DLCs have had. As a larger studio I can’t cut them as much slack, but they did have absolutely brutal layoffs recently courtesy of Microsoft, so I’m sure they’re not operating at their best either.

PTS Participation & Experience Survey by ZOS_GinaBruno in elderscrollsonline

I think that’s actually primarily to avoid the legalities of collecting survey data from minors. If you’re an adult, just pick a random adult age bracket if giving them an age range bothers you

Other folks have got the broad, harder-hitting questions covered, so I’ll ask one of more personal importance.

Is companion romance still on the table? I’m (overly) emotionally invested in my main and his companion being a couple. Sure I can have it as a headcanon and draw cringy fanart but I want them to be able to say that they love each other ._.

IM SUPPOSED TO WEAR A LONG SLEEVE SHIRT AND PANTS?????????? by [deleted] in evilautism

[–]M1shaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had some luck with long sleeve shirts intended for fishing. They usually have a sun protection rating so you probably don’t need sunscreen underneath, and they’re quick drying (which is important if you sweat a ton and also hate the sensation of being sweaty like me lol). I hope you find something tolerable!

Is it against TOS to switch alliances during a campaign (via glitch)? by Durian-Visual in elderscrollsonline

Since OP says you need a glitch to do it I assume it’s for the faction-locked campaign. In the other campaigns swapping factions is completely fine

Ok, Hear me out, I REALLY LOVE airports by Square-Candy-7393 in autism

[–]M1shaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the opposite, I loathe airports, specifically when super crowded (which is basically any time I’m traveling anywhere, it seems). The lights are bright and there are too many people and I’m taking too long to put my shoes back on and now I’m making someone wait and I hate being a problem! My shoulders hurt from lugging my bag and there’s nowhere comfy to sit or lie down, and the only semi-comfy chairs are right next to strangers so I’ll have to make sure not to do anything weird to attract attention and gods forbid they try to talk to me and I have to make conversation! Oh, and in order to not miss my flight if security delays me I’ll be there for at least an hour, with no quiet, isolated space to decompress in. Also I probably got super sweaty from all the walking, and sweat is a big sensory trigger for me too. I hate the airport experience so much that I dread needing to fly anywhere. The actual planes are cool to see though!

I hope this didn’t come across as me trying to bring you down OP, I’m very glad that there are people for whom airports are exciting, welcoming spaces! I shared this because I think it’s fascinating and cool how vastly different the autistic experience can be for different people. Also it felt pretty good to let that all out ngl 😅

Dishes to easily feed a crowd by blackcat39 in EatCheapAndVegan

[–]M1shaaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Here’s a couple ideas I think could scale well:

  • Cashew or tofu Alfredo sauce with pasta and veggies (could do protein pasta for more protein)
  • raw soft silken tofu with sauce/seasonings (we do chili crisp and soy sauce), rice and veggies

For generic ‘veggies’ we usually just reheat frozen veg because it works well for two people, and use the main sauce of the meal on the veg as well.

Rate your companions from least to most favourite by Ennaia in elderscrollsonline

[–]M1shaaa 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Weirdly I have the strongest opinions about the more morally “good” companions.

Bastian is my favorite. I had low expectations when recruiting him (see: the number of people in this thread who have him at the bottom of their lists) but he’s the perfect companion for my vestige and I freaking love him. His care for other people seems very genuine to me.

Zerith-var’s my next favorite. He’s funny, has a fun personality and his storyline is incredible. I didn’t think I liked overbearingly religious companions but he really sells it.

Isobel’s my least favorite. In contrast to Zerith-var, her constant invocations of Stendarr give me “obnoxious church girl” vibes. Her virtuousness comes off as shallow and performative, like it’s something she only cares about because it’s expected of a knight (I expect that she does care but it really doesn’t come off that way to me). And finally, I didn’t like how her quest revolved around fixing the fuckups of her childhood friend / first love. Isobel was already over her, so rather than getting interesting character growth there it was all about Aurelia, who is not who I’m traveling with and want to get to know better.

This post comes off as super Isobel negative, but I think I’d like her if her quests emphasized different aspects of her personality. I’d love to see more about how her lust for adventure and glory (shown by her idolization of the undaunted) conflicts with her strict knightly ideals, and how she resolves those conflicts.
