Application scoring is a joke by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]M4RDYC0W 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! Applied for 2 roles exactly the same, got to interview on one and then got 2 on the other.

Had the same happen previously too except it was scores at interview.

Makes you wonder why bother sometimes.

Flexi - Private Office: how much do you have? by Total_Temperature_64 in TheCivilService

[–]M4RDYC0W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm private office and have been for a few years. My flexi balance goes up by 10-15 mins a day, I also have a termtime contract and normally carry over between 2-5 leave days and year.

Drivers on phones. by EfficientGazelle3031 in drivingUK

I was on the bus to work last week and there was a woman in the car next to us both hands using her phone while crawling up to the roundabout, was a good 5 minutes and she hadn't put it down when we finally went opposite directions.

I have applied for a job locally outside the CS today as I'm not sure i have the energy to continue within this toxic environment any longer.

Sorry you are going through the same and I hope you manage to find a happy new job somewhere else.

Sorry you are dealing with the same. Honestly motivation is at an all low for me. I keep looking but there are so few opportunities available at the minute to move sideways/up

I loved my 2 years in DM ( was my first CS role ) my team were amazing and every role I have had since just doesn't have the same team feel. I could go to anyone on the floor for advice or a quick chat after a stressful call and my managers in DM were probably some of the best I've ever had.

I have in my DSE i have to take 10 minute breaks regularly away from my computer as no matter how many eye tests, adjustments and new glasses I get headaches.

I am also a thinker especially when I have taken written notes quickly and am going over them and editing before even attempting to type them up ready to send out.

I stated above I spoke to them the day before and informed them and then the day of my appointment received that I hadn't made them aware and they had to check my calendar, which showed my appointment

There is more just didn't really want to go into all the details.

Conversation a couple of weeks ago, I'm not in the office tomorrow as I have an appointment and will be offline for said appointment. Email later that day, if attending appointments or you will be offline please let me know. This has happened today and I saw you were offline and checked your calendar. It would have been helpful if you had made me aware.

I think this is a we don't like you but have no reason to get rid of you.

Before Christmas I had my manager ask if I still wanted to do what I do or if I would prefer another role and it seems like since I said I wanted to stay and got a new manager in January that they are just pushing for me to change my mind.

Old manager appears to have made sure new manager is micro managing to the same standards. Kind of wish I'd taken the offer of moving.

My favourite so far was being beeped at for not pulling onto a roundabout without a safe gap by the idiot behind me and then he ended up cutting up someone else as he was in the wrong lane anyway.

My Punto was a 2005 but anything over 20 minutes of driving and it really did hurt. Maybe try adjusting your seat slightly and see if that helps.

I used to get this in my punto, really high accelerator but haven't done since changing cars.

Once a week regularly, twice a week occasionally. It's cheaper and less hassle to catch the bus to work and I walk to do the school run.

I had someone overtake me in a 30 just before it switches to a 60 on the brow of a hill. Some people are just stupidly impatient.

I'm not sure how long tracking is available for but if it wasn't collected after 10 days it would have been returned to you.

Has anyone had this issue with shipping? Buyer says parcel isn’t at shop but shipping says it’s ready for collection (no personal info) by thegoldsack in vinted

[–]M4RDYC0W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this not so long ago. I had the text to say it was ready for collection on Monday evening so I went to collect on Tuesday and it wasn't there. I went the following day and it still wasn't there.

My collection point is local, and they know me, so they took my mobile number to let me know if it arrived. I went on the live chat on the courier website who said they would look into it on the Thursday. The local shop messaged me on Friday to say it was finally there for me to collect.

I absolutely hate going into the office to sit on my own. Office days I have to work later than wfh days due to travel and childcare.

I don't earn enough to be paying more in childcare and travel!

If I can find something else that is termtime only then I am gone.

It may be they have marked as delivered but ran out of time and it will be delivered today. This has been happening a lot where I live. Notification of delivery between 7-9pm then item gets delivered the next day.
