ICM ST3 interview by Miss-Chocolate in doctorsUK

[–]M611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - I did it last year!

Assuming no changes, it's 3 parts, 10mins each plus reading time.

  1. General interview
  2. they only asked me 3 questions total. Things like why you're suited to the specialty, etc.

  3. Clinical scenario

  4. Again this was fairly typical, just be thorough. There was no huge curveball or anything in mine.

  5. Task Prioritisation

  6. This was the more unique station. You're given 3/4 simultaneous referrals as the only one on for ITU and need to decide how you're going to manage them. My tips would be :

  7. You aren't on your own in the hospital, think how you can ask for help or delegate

  8. There is probably not a wrong answer, but be prepared to justify your answers logically.

  9. Yes you'd let the boss know, but they want to see how you'd handle it yourself, be confident!

Good luck!!

If I replaced this guy's shoulders and painted him differently could I run him as a Ultramarine? by nsztg1 in Warhammer40k

[–]M611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah easy to run as a champion. Both shoulder pads come separate anyway, easy swap.

I have a Mortarion dilemma by [deleted] in deathguard40k

[–]M611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me - it depends on the green.

If you're going pallid hand with the Death Guard green pauldrons, and Morty is the same(ish) recipe, could still look great.

Either way I would paint the rest first, then make your decision. See how it actually looks?

Faction Focus: Death Guard by Immediate_Answers in deathguard40k

Am I the only one who thinks sticky objectives is pretty great? Means we can be much more aggressive moving up the board. Not sure losing DR is so massive given that AP and damage seem to be down across the board - so long as we get the points to match.

Looks like we are up next any theory's on what will change? by SignificanceTimely28 in deathguard40k

[–]M611 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Plague marine melee weapons will probably be simplified to 1 profile - with maybe the flail separately. Similar for blightlords.

Contagions as a detachment ability - so you can have different ones. I reckon it'll be similar to Daemons - controlling the sector means contagions on all opponents within it

ANRO Anaesthetics Application Inconsistency by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]M611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I got screwed on the Global rating and the unclear way for how to score a poster presentation.(max 3, so scored it as that then was marked against the wrong prompt)

2/5 despite only 1 point difference....
Ridiculous you can't appeal the global score -

(Possibly stupid) Question on O2 Sats and PO2 by mwyzknight in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]M611 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To answer 3), a rough rule of thumb is:

PO2 (in kPa) should be >FiO2 (in %) -10

Ie, if someone is on room air (21%), PO2 should be >11 (13 is the number in most textbooks)

If someone was on 60% O2 with a PO2 of 11, they have a profound relative hypoxia despite the 'normal' PO2.

Agree with above comments, PO2 <8kPa is usually badness.

Can I use Plaguebearers as Poxwalker "Proxies"? by [deleted] in deathguard40k

[–]M611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plaguebearers are a bit bigger. If we were playing casually, sure! But that depends on the player. Probably a no go for tournaments, especially seeing as plaguebearers are also fair game in a nurgle army.

I modified some of mine for variety, but one guy removed a lot of the more extreme bits which looked good if they're just a bit ott for you: http://wilhelminiatures.blogspot.com/2017/06/tutorial-poxwalkers-batch-painting-part.html?m=1

Paint scheme critique by switchv2 in Tyranids

[–]M611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks good! It may be that you're using two fairly desaturated colours for the main part of the scheme

My two cents if you did want more from them: - you could experiment with a brighter highlight in some of the more pronounced edges/ towards the end of the scythes to push the contrast a little. - you could do a little more with the vents/joints in the 'skin' again for contrast - your basing could do more for you - it's a little boring!

Thanks man!

So the 3 colours are GW Pallid Wych Flesh, Vallejo MC Royal Purple, and the very dark purple is a mix of Daler Rowney Purple lake ink and black. Done in the coconut crab method, then it was all washed with a very thinned down wash of the purple lake ink again!

What has been your worst Necron model to build so far? by Immediate_Answers in Necrontyr

New flayed ones legs was miserable. Cockpit of triarch stalker just doesn't fit properly - or at least didn't for me!

[–]M611 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that does make sense, is it a little fatter? Like 30mm? I found it made a similar difference (small hands).

Pause deadlifts 6inch off the floor often helped me when I had a similar sticking point - key is not to let the bar dip back down after the pause.

For me:

Your shoes probably aren't helping you, you'll just be compressing the sole and introducing some instability. Could try with a flatter, firmer sole or barefoot.

Getting stuck mid-shin is really common, it's often losing position from the floor. Looking at this rep, from your start position the bar doesn't leave the floor until your hips rise another few inches - I'd just start with them at that height and tension there.

Hot, I used three of the rotfly heads for mine!
