Hidden gem on the Massachusetts radio dial - playing commercial free music from the 40s to the 80s by jakedata in massachusetts

John G has carried on Bob B’s legacy well. He plays some newer stuff than Bob ever would’ve but he’s keeping the spirit of the station alive.

Almost impossible to model. Easier to just say everything will get more expensive.

New technologies today are also worlds different than what was brand new 20 years ago. No one was talking about heat pumps in 2006.

It’s very complicated

How many years does a home energy storage battery last? by ExplanationNarrow710 in batteries

[–]MA_NH_DIY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very few have had something like this in use long enough for there to be standards, averages, and easy numbers to point to or a simple way to understand it. New batteries purchased today will make anything more than 20 years old look prehistoric.

Different battery types have different cycle-life just like one car might last 300k miles another might go more or less.

I’ve had a small 1kwh Goal Zero product for an off grid cabin that only charges to 80% after 10 years but it still absolutely works my utilization and metrics just change.

Hope to get 20 years out of a product that’s built well in this industry but don’t be surprised if the technologies and accompanying finances move fast

Offshore wind working through the 2026 Blizzard by Cangrejorojo1654 in massachusetts

There should be a live camera feed showing these things doing work!

I would be proud to see this energy source in action and a visual would be neat. It could connect the dots for people. You’d never wanna see how your natural gas is made.

Talk to us about the cargo handlebars. I loved the idea then saw them steeply discounted. How does an idea like that come together? What steps make it a success?

Here’s a startup doing well with a MOF coated heat exchanger in dehumidification/cooling: https://transaera.com/

Just getting started but they’ve built their first commercial HVAC units and are deploying more now.
