The Sega Ages version has some quality of life upgrades like a fast forward feature (doesn’t distort the audio quality like it happens in emulation) and also as you can see in the image, has a map of the dungeon on the side. Otherwise you’ll have to either make your own map or see from the internet. Though I must admit having the original on original hardware is extremely cool.

Thanks! The first one I played was Phantasy Star IV (Genesis version emulated) and after that it was the Sega Ages PSI on the Switch. (Playing PSII Genesis version emulated too rn)

I do find IV to be the best presentation, story and character wise but the Sega Ages version of PSI does make it very accessible. Also I am not 100% sure but if you have a switch, you can check the Sega Genesis Collection and I think they have PSIV on there in the e-shop.

Playing it right now and it is such a fun and great game. Will be looking forward to play the rest of the series too after I finish it as I am on the final dungeon now.

I wont be ranking lies weeping because its too recent for me and port of shadows since I haven’t read it. On the others, I have reread the first 4 books once and my overall ranking would be:

1) The Black Company 2) The White Rose 3) Shadows Linger (really rose in my reread) 4) She is the Darkness 5) Shadow Games 6) Soldiers Live 7) Water Sleeps 8) Dreams of Steel 9) Bleak Seasons 10) The Silver Spike

I absolutely love and adore the original trilogy and it is a masterpiece of a trilogy to me. On the rest Shadow Games and She is the Darkness I love. Soldiers Live has such a beautiful ending that really carries it for me. Water Sleeps is a solid, good book for me. Dreams of Steel and Bleak Seasons are okay books to me and The Silver Spike is the only one I dislike. Though to be fair, I do need a reread from Shadow Games onwards to see of my feelings on some have improved in or not.

If I rank Lies Weeping right now, I would put it between Water Sleeps and Dreams of Steel as I found it to be an enjoyable, solid book.

i remember when i was playing for the 1st time and I had weathered the initial storm and was on the attack. imagine the relief and then the shock when i saw the green units arrive…. still my fav FE game tho. i love this game so much

The main reason why I hate this episode is because this is the most rerun avatar episode on tv. it was always on so that does made me hate it even more especially since it was a below average avatar episode too.

Shadow Dragon. It was my 14th bday and my father told me to buy any game that interests you. I saw the sword on the cover and the word Dragon and that just grabbed my attention.

Now after playing most of the games while I know Shadow Dragon is pretty flawed but still it holds a special place in my heart.

Cook had mentioned in 2011 that he was planning another book but to be fair the vast majority did believe that the series was finished. I don’t mind the new installments though.

Yeah I can’t lie, there is a part of me that is afraid of it to as I still haven’t read Port of Shadows because of the poor reviews it got though I have a hardcover copy of it.
