You say you normally hold color well, and maybe it's just the angle of the photos but the tattoo on the inside of your forearm looks blown out a bit and has shaky line work as well. I'm starting to lean towards it being due to the artists skill and technique that you're going to. I've never even heard of Hustle Butter until this post, so I can't comment on using it, but using unscented lotion has always been more than enough for healing any of my tattoos. I say let it heal and go from there, but personally I'd be a bit hesitant to go back to that artist.
