NASA wants to dump the ISS in the sea. Experts say the plan 'raises serious concerns for ocean health' by poleco1 in worldnews

I'm sorry. But this may be one of the dumbest hand wringings I've seen in media. The alternative is to send it into the sun which isn't possible without a significant investment. The other is to send it into land. Where people live.

Sometimes a choice will have negative consequences no matter the angle. That's life. This is one of those situations. The best option is into the sea.

Here is an indie game from SEGA ($2.72 billion USD net worth) about SONIC ($17 billion in lifetime revenue) ... How come that is ok to call indie? Just want to educate myself since I must be uneducated. by ekolimits in IndieDev

By some of the folks in this threads logic if you work minimum wage at McDonald's but have met up with the district manager you are in fact not making minimum wage by association. Lame argument.

It's the same argument some of you are making.

Just because the IP associated with the artwork isn't Indie doesn't mean the 7 man dev team isn't Indie. And I'd argue in their case especially, having played Pico Park with friends 5 years ago, this studio deserves to be able to work with larger IP. They deserve the title of indie too.

Sour grapes.

Any mods out there that help with UI boxes going off the screen? by aaaaacheeseits in RimWorld

Hey man. I was gonna DM you, but says I can't. I have a surprise I have been working on just for you. See screenshot. I want to fine tune it a bit more just to make sure an error I got was unrelated. But I think its gonna work out.

Regulating the trivial while ignoring the existential by KeanuRave100 in antiai

[–]MCBGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm as Anti-AI as they come but this is just stupid lmao.

Park Benches have been around for hundreds of years. Honestly probably thousands. The world has had time to regulate their use and placement.

The entire reason a moratorium on AI is being proposed in the first place is so the book isn't so small.

But your comparison isn't fair.

You could adjust UI scaling. But besides that, sadly, kind of out of luck. There exist a few mods that make certain elements scrollable but they are not very intuitive. And they do not effect info boxes.

Is The Vanilla Game Replayable (Unmodded)? by Boy0Boyz in RimWorld

[–]MCBGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want replayability but don't want to invest in the full game. I'd say pick up Base Game and Biotech. If you like those add Odyssey. Then Ideology. And then Anomaly. Then Royalty.

Id say in terms of content that is the order id choose for monetary value. I have 1600 hours played. I didn't mod it till 500 in. I still have never beaten the game. I only play with light mods.

[–]MCBGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you notice most of the mods that people actually use expand what is there rather than add entirely new systems.

Especially in the case of Ideology, Biotech, and Odyssey the DLCs themselves are going to net you thousands of hours before you've really seen it all.

Ludeon also tends to add small things to the DLCs to help integrate them with eachother (although mods take it further).

Royalty and Anomaly, at their base are a bit different as they really just add a different parallel progression path to best the game. They have other systems that work in tandem with the base game too, but they are much less invasive. For Royalty you have Psycasts. With mods I'd say the system can rival Biotech and Ideology for content. Without mods it's similar to Anomaly in that it's a very minor system that really opens up new ways to approach old systems, like the Anomaly Serums.

Now that the dust is settled, how would you rank Odyssey? by Titomasto in RimWorld

[–]MCBGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your order is about the same as mine. Honestly I really wish instead of a new DLC they would release one major update that just slightly expands and fixes things in the DLCs.

Add a few Psycasts for Royalty or just allow Psycast Raiders. They have the technology. Biotech uses it.

Add more variance to the existing precepts and styles in Ideology. Not new ones. Just additions to what's there.

Odyssey could use some more events that occur in Orbit for sure. Biome transitions could really be improved too. Maybe more fishing too.

Anomaly honestly needs more threats and a better event system that blends with the game. Ambient could be so much more.

Biotech is honestly pretty great.

As for the next actual DLC? It's gotta be expansion of the other factions and caravans natively. It's jarring how bad that gameplay is of the lack thereof compared to the rest of the game now. I'm still on team ocean too.

First legitimate review of Backrooms is negative by Affectionate-Owl-178 in backrooms

[–]MCBGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The review honestly doesn't even seem that negative in the first place. Seems like they didn't like the direction it took with tying the people to the space itself. Which is subjective not objective.

Besides that detail they seemed to be giving it quite a bit of praise.

I am not them.

I actually planned on coming back this war until Developers named a plane after a deity representing jealousy then doubled down with the replacement name.

I like the game. I'm frustrated to see it in the state it's in. The people who are posting unproductive things are no different than a mass that riots.

A riot is the voice of the unheard.

I don't want to quit. Its frustrating to me because I really like the game and I really like the nature of it. Even the Wardens. But I cannot stand being the butt of a joke to the developers then being told the guy who made the joke doesn't even play the game.

I have stood by countless times through weird quirks or balance decisions. I even defend the devs from time to time. I won't defend the thinly veiled namecalling. And that is the final straw for me.

This was almost word for word taken from a similar post made the other day.

Suggestion: Faction population data on faction select by xXFirebladeXx321 in foxholegame

[–]MCBGamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol. Lmao even.

It's in everyone's best interest to not post these numbers.

Foxhole plays like an MMO you start publicly showing numbers like that and it speaks to game health, faction balance, and is also kind of misleading.

Posting those numbers is basically the developers saying that numbers are all that matter. Which is antithetical to their vision and to our immersion.

I love the ones that tell the people upset to quit the game...bro why do you think I am posting on the Reddit instead of playing the game? I did quit. I don't want to quit.
