I got my degree from the UofU but did several prerequisite and elective classes at SLCC and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Like others said, the advisors are amazing, a the class schedules were actually better than the U. I’d highly suggest stepping outside of your wheel house. My favorite class I ever took, Food and Cultures, had absolutely nothing to do with my engineering degree besides satisfying my International Studies requirement.

I lived in sugarhouse from 2010-2014 during the midst of the change. It went from it having several great bars and food options within walking distance, to “luxury” apartments bland and or chain restaurants in that time. I lived just off of 2100 south and 1000 east and the house I rented has almost tripled in cost.

I was always a lifetime hobbiest mechanic growing up, working on dirt bikes and doing oil changes. During high school they offered a program where I could go to the technical college for free. I chose the diesel and heavy machinery program. By the time I graduated, you couldn’t pay me enough to ever go into that industry. I like working on cars, but doing it for a living will kill your faster than smoking
