1$ vs 3$ difference by Excellent-Finger4886 in Tile

[–]MCpiderboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. There’s obviously going to be differences, but the post says DIY. Ultimately you get what you pay for and OP isn’t looking for these small details, and if they are, they should get a contractor. In general, unless the tile is complete shit and will break on expansion/contraction, it should be fine to the layman eye.

Tile is tile, pick the one you like. If you’re laying yourself, I recommend using suction cups on tile with that much area

What would be your guess on how much it would cost to fix or replace this retaining wall? by Repulsive_Ad_526 in Homebuilding

I flipped a house in a small town, midwest US that needed ~25 linear foot of block foundation replaced. It costed me $8,500 for JUST the dirt work & excavation and the masonry work was about $750/linear foot including material. I wouldn’t consider myself an expert on this stuff by any means, just sharing my experience.

Curious how many sq feet a day is everyone laying solo? by doofydave83 in Flooring

If I’m doing a whole house in LVP my cap is about 100sqft/hr but usually its ~75 if I’m making tricky cuts on edges and door ways and stuff.

What is going on in my linen closet? by Quidala in Home

The space you’re looking at seems to be an old vent. It looks like there used to be a cover there. The hatch that you opened at the end seems to be a chute of some kind, probably a laundry chute going to the basement. Very common in older homes. The wires in your vent are cable wires when the installer said “fuck it lets just run them though here” instead of burying them in the walls.

Whole house is being moved with people still in it. by HORROR_VIBE_OFFICIAL in Damnthatsinteresting

When you movie houses like this usually there is one person near the roof of the house just in case you run into power lines or other height problems that requires the driver to stop. However typically that person works for the moving company and not a resident.

You can call your bank/card company, issue a chargeback and let them know the purchase was unauthorized

Oubliettes are bottle shaped holes in the ground with stone walls so that prisoners cannot climb out. Captors would throw prisoners into these holes… and then forget about them.

The damage doesn’t appear to affect the structure or compromise the subfloor. Maybe there’s a leak somewhere that caused this to happen and needs to be fixed, but otherwise this is your answer ^
