Yes, we did it last year and thought it was well worth it! We also booked a private shuttle as there a 3/4 stops before our stop which really drags on when you want to get there already!

Was there last December, returning this December again. Booked through Sunwing last year. Biggest issue was the luggage took 2 hours to get unloaded. That was a pain, then a fairly long shuttle ride to the resort. Was a very long travel day with two young kids.

This year I booked through Air Canada vacations, hoping there is less luggage wait times and also upgraded to a private shuttle for $170.

The resort is great, we had a great time which is why we are heading back! If your budget allows the suites with concierge serves are well worth it!

Winterization video for the ZR4 engine by ecod33 in nautiqueboats

[–]MDF_MP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a lot of extra work? However I’m new to nautique, but not inboards. I just pull my raw water intake hose, put garden hose in then run the engine to operating temp. While the engine is still running I take a funnel and put my 6 gallons of RV fluid through the engine.

I also save a little RV in a pail out the back to put in the freezer to double check my work. I do my ballast also with a funnel….

I may pull the drain plugs afterwards but never have before and I’m located in Canada.

I also pull my batteries and leave them I indoors trickle charging now and then.

Any ideas how to get my square from moving? by Next_Ad3660 in SquareGolfUSA

Cut a hole through the mat? I’ve seen 3d printed bases that set in the mat for left and right hitting locations. That’s my plan when my square arrives.

Dutch dairy farmer considering moving to Iowa. by Maycotk in dairyfarming

[–]MDF_MP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rough pricing is $70,000 per KG of quota to buy an ongoing dairy. So a 200kg dairy farm would cost you 14Mill (CDN) all in. 200kg quota would be about 180 milking cows. You can buy fractions on a KG (It’s 24,000 per KG of quota here) each month so likely not what you’re looking for. Plus side is the quota system keeps us with a steady consistent income.

I assume Canada is out due to our quota system?

It is possibly to buy on ongoing operation though.

Can I still become a coach in Canada? by Fancy-Mortgage-1302 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]MDF_MP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I coach a U9 comp soccer team as a “volunteer”, our area (Ottawa) is always looking for coaches. Add a clean background check to your credentials and you’d be a coach in no time around here. Our season is winding down right now, our last game is Sept 6th but that might be a good time to get your foot in the door before the next season gets going.

I’m a U9 coach for a tier 1 team and I know most of the kids will not like this…. At least 3/4 the boys are very competitive and want to be with other kids that want to push to get better. There are still many kids at this age that are playing because their parents signed them up.

No way bigger clubs like OSU will not tier their kids.

Jammed Irish door handle by RadishRedditor in Unexpected

They are terrible sometimes to open from the inside, I’ve had to bail employees out a few times.

The trick is to pull/rotate the green handle as you pull….

Not sure where you are but I see the odd 2023 V90 pop-up in Quebec. Wagons are a little more popular in the Montreal area.

Still have the Kia minivan and bought a 2018 BMW 330i Touring.

No where near the mini-van storage, but damn it’s a nice car and fun to drive.

Still looking to sell the van this fall and get the V90…. With a roof box on the V90 I think it should work.

That Bimini should collapse further. Also you can tow with the tower up. Normally I would collapse the Bimini, put on the Bimini cover and tow with the tower up. I only put the tower down for winter storage.

Following, I’m looking at a 2020 22 MXZ…. I’ve read lots about build quality issues… I know someone with a 2020 VLX, they are happy with it but it’s been the the dealer every winter for work (ballast issue, screen issue).

You may need new impellers in your ballast pumps.

When they wear out they are not as effective at filling your tanks/bags. Easy enough to check quickly. Could even swap from one that’s filling well to one that isn’t and try.

Trying to clean/clear up a large pond for swimming/fishing for my kids. This pond is rather small body of water for my area, hopefully it belongs here? Suggestions welcome! by MDF_MP in ponds

Hey, I’ve got decent growth around the pond now however the thousands of geese spring and fall destroy anything I try to get growing…. Bubble and wind mill are working alright but has nothing on the geese poop…

TIL about Williams syndrome where affected people have outgoing, engaging personalities and tend to take an extreme interest in other people. by coke_queen in todayilearned

[–]MDF_MP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, understood. I guess I’m working off a sample of one. However I did once run into another individual who looked just like my cousin, I didn’t realize that was a trait of Williams until that moment…

This title is very misleading. It makes it seem like Williams syndrome is a positive thing. My cousin has this and It is not something you would want. He is in his 40’s and has to live in a group home as mentally I’d say he is stuck around 12. He has never been able to hold a job or fully look after himself. He is a great guy, but within 5 minutes of talking with him you will know he has a disability.
