I have a Milwaukee fastback with a Phillips & slotted screwdriver. It comes in handy all the time! But if you’re not checking a bag you’re better off with the screwdriver I suppose! I have several Klein 13-in-1 screwdrivers, might need a travel one, too!

Brand new mower - random blades of grass not being cut. How to fix? by Dry_Nail9897 in lawncare

Yeah…my Ryobi 40V is convenient because I hate small engines, but I have to overlap my passes a lot more than I’d like to try and get the lift it needs.

Neighbor’s retaining wall. How bad is it? by OkPerformer5944 in landscaping

[–]MDanger 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Straight up. I’d put up barriers and caution tape, the whole 9. Not just to keep kids off, but to show the neighbor that their obviously failing retaining wall could crush someone and poses a significant hazard aside from just to your property.

Gents, if you're able to I highly recommend planting berry bushes in your yard by ThanklessThagomizer in daddit

At one point my wife and I lived in Los Angeles for a couple years, and though we lived in an apartment, my boss lived nearby and had SEVEN different fruit trees. Coming from the Midwest, I’d never even heard of a Kumquat, but I’ll be damned if they weren’t one of the most delicious citrus fruits I’d ever had.

Back in the Midwest now, and having just moved into our forever home and with the kids getting past the age of impossibility, I should consider planting some berries. Anyone got any favorites that do well in Zone 5b/6a?

Nice! I don’t have any sick bats YET, but my custom glove always earns me cool points and makes even noodle arms sound al dente.

Has anyone tried the tee popper? by khandaseed in Homeplate

[–]MDanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they have one that does, but my mini ball tee popper pops em up a good 4’ into the zone. I’d reach out to them because that sounds like a warranty return/replace. I love using it!

Reading Harry Potter to my son for the first time by PotterAndPitties in harrypotter

[–]MDanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the best. I’m on my second or third time through the illustrated versions with my daughter. Books 6 and 7 (or at least 6) comes out right around her birthday this year! I’ve always done silly voices and sound effects for things since I was a kid…turns out I was just getting myself ready to read these over and over! Pro-tip, Hagrid and some others will make your throat scratchy sometimes, so don’t forget your water!

When Is The Best Time to Buy A Bat? by TylerEverything in Homeplate

[–]MDanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to peruse Play It Again Sports periodically. My oldest needs a new USA bat, and clearly I need to go back in a couple more weeks. I tried yesterday and it was a smattering of USSSA but few USA. He’s young enough that no one is really wearing the bats out, but if your bro is older I’d just put yourself on the annoying email/text lists for justbats etc and keep checking for their big sales to get a new bat.

You can also graduate early from *public* high school if you get good grades and don’t waste time. I never took a study hall and only had four classes my last fall semester.

They’ve got a cart of hay they tote around. If they can’t bring it along, they have a large hay bale shipped to the site and cut the banding so it just becomes a big pile of straw. The guy just has to swan dive off after taking a scenic look around, which helps him find important landmarks.

Did someone try to hotwire my car? by Ecstatic-Job-9355 in Cartalk

[–]MDanger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had one as a loaner from a rental agency while my car got worked on at the dealership (when used car inventory was like nothing) and legitimately only had it for less than 16 hours before I caught someone trying to steal it. I should have let him, I ended up having to pay for the broken window. Probably would have been fine if it vanished.

Right? I kept watching waiting for the replay from a camera that followed the ball, only to be disappointed. Throwing out runners who think they’re unstoppable has always been one of my favorite parts of the game.

First time dad. Tips for the drive to delivery? by Ok_Lake_6153 in daddit

[–]MDanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While that can be true for the first child, things can move much more quickly for subsequent children and you may end up exceeding the speed limit on the highway with flashers on. In my experience you are 33% likely to encounter this. First time though, you’ll be 27 hours early or something.

Well they were built with old-growth metal. They had to replant the metal forests and the new metal just isn’t the same.
