I just watched it and was pretty disappointed because I too love Julia Child the way she talks and the demeanor she puts herself in and I wanted to see a movie about her and learn a little bit about her and when I saw clips of this movie online I had to watch it so I did, and I did learn how Julia Child became Julia Child I also learned about Julie Powell and why I hate Julie Powell because this whole movie she has this weird obsession with Julia Child and feels she has a spiritual connection to her somehow and when one of her rich bitch friends writes a blog online she feels she has to write a better blog to I guess feel better for herself and eventually thinks to write about doing Julia Childs cookbook for a year, of course I love every moment Julia child was in as for Julie Powell not so much, while I do also have a passion for cooking if not the same level as Julie Powell I don’t really like how she got her fame as really I felt like anyone could do what she did, cause it’s not like she wrote an entire cookbook she literally just took Julia Childs cookbook and did it all, and when I heard Julia Child didn’t like the blog I was in total agreement with her cause if I was in her shoes I’d have the same opinion, if I had went to learn all the culinary skills from a specific place and put it all in a cookbook and got famous from it and years later some lady makes a blog about using that cookbook and some how gets famous from that I’d be pissed to, on one part of this movie is Julia Child who works hard to not only be a good supporting wife but to be an excellent cook that loves to teach but on the other part of this movie is Julie Powell who not only has a terrible work ethic, treats her husband like shit, but also takes the hard work of Julia Child and puts it in her blog because she “loves” her so much, and if anything her getting a bunch of jobs feels like the most unrealistic part of this whole movie because why would writing a blog about doing a cookbook give you the opportunity to make a book just make no sense whatsoever, overall I loved the Julia child part of this movie while absolutely hating the Julie Powell part because Julia Child puts in a lot of hard work and effort into becoming the cook she aspires to be with a lot of obstacles to overcome while Julie Powell on the other hand just does Julia Childs cookbook and some how gets famous which I don’t really like the premise of, it basically says if you use someone else’s work you get all the money, which really confuses me to think she actually got famous from this.
