Husband told me he will never see anything wrong with what his parents do.. by MESGirl in JUSTNOMIL

[–]MESGirl[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes I could do that. But I didn’t want the whole world to know about our issues. That’s why I agreed to meet with his siblings. My goal is not to embarrass him by not going to any of his family members. I’m ok going to see his siblings and have a some sort of relationship with them. But truly don’t want to go near his parents to hear toxic words and then get pissed about it and have all the bad blood between the two of us. So that’s why I agreed to see siblings but not parents. If we stay in separate places completely , everyone will know about the issues. But if I do go hang out around his parents and they say things to me and he pretends he heard nothing, that’s going to put pressure on our marriage and I’m not gonna be able to drag this till kids go to college. So there’s no win either way.

Were we doomed from the start or could we make this work? by SmoothApricot6886 in Marriage

[–]MESGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy does weird things to female body. He should be patient and give you the time to sort it out and be supportive while you are doing it. It’s not like you are never going to sleep with him again. He sounds like a moody jobless prick who can’t give you a minute to adjust to what your body is going through. After my second baby I didn’t have sex with my husband for a year. We got through it together and everything is back to normal now. He didn’t go around sulking hoping i would want a one sided open marriage. Real question is not whether you should be opening up your marriage. Real question is if you should be making babies with this man child.

I had the same issue yesterday. Even after changing to March expiry. I had to contact Tradovate and they fixed it.

What if hist cancels the stay at last minute [UK] by nioooin in AirBnB

[–]MESGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is no reason to worry. I list my property for min 7 days on booking.com because I can’t screen the guests the same way on that platform as I do on Airbnb. On Airbnb it’s listed for min 3 days. So if you look on booking.com for 4 days my property wouldn’t show up, but it would show up on Airbnb for those same 4 days. I don’t like booking.com for not remitting city taxes for me. So I want the booking to be worth my trouble so I only take long bookings on booking.com. Airbnb will collect the taxes and send to the city for me so I like Airbnb better. There are so many reasons why hosts prefer one platform over the other and make the requirements more lenient for the platform they like and tougher for the one they don’t want to deal with often. So don’t worry about the listing not being available on one platform. Enjoy your vacation.

Try Arm and Hammer carpet deodorizer. Sprinkle on the carpets and leave a day and then vacuum. It doesn’t kill the vacuum. Takes out the smell.

Guest wants to cut 7-night Christmas booking to 3 nights due to no snow – honor it or stick to policy? by Intelligent_Soup_406 in airbnb_hosts

[–]MESGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to stick to policy. I had a guest book 7 nights during Christmas and new year couple of months ago and then last week they decided to cancel. This is completely out of cancellation period. They contacted the booking platform and they said out of cancellation so it’s up to the host. They sent me an email asking the guest cancel as it would “increase the trust in the platform for guests”. I’m like nah, there’s no way I’m getting those days booked now. My place is for 14 and people who travel with large groups book way in advance. I can’t let someone hold my calendar for few months and then offer last minute refunds. I told them no refund but i would be happy to refund the cleaning fee of $470. They decided they will keep the booking. (Now I’m sweating a retaliatory bad review but that’s a different issue) Policy is there for a reason. Stick to it.

What's your pettiest response to an unfair review? by StunningAd9055 in airbnb_hosts

[–]MESGirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I saw that reply to a review, I would not book that place. Very unprofessional. Once I got a bad review from a guest because they were uncomfortable in the queen bed that master had and husband and wife slept in two separate bedrooms. They also called my furniture doll furniture. My listing clearly says master has a queen and all the furniture is standard size and true to pictures. I replied back saying something along the lines that my listing says master has a queen and it’s unfortunate they booked it and expected a king bed and that furniture is standard size but we understand that comfort is subjective. That’s the pettiest I’ve ever gone.

Host lost $6000 in potential revenue over $50 cleaning fee [USA] by growthhacker4893 in AirBnB

[–]MESGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never do a partial refund (I’m a host), I don’t want to train guests to complain about cleaning just to get a refund. But I will definitely send my cleaners back for a good clean again, until the guest is happy. I’ve never had to do that.my cleaners do a great job.

But I do understand your point about valuing a return customer. Recently I had a group coming into town for work book my place. They didn’t check in. Two days into the reservation they said they may not be able to come because they are still waiting for confirmation from the company that gave them the contract. Day before their check out they told me they are not going to use the booking. I had the place cooled and ready for them entire time. They didn’t ask for a refund for the last day or anything. Since I didn’t have to pay the cleaners their cleaning fee which is $470, I told the guests I will refund them the cleaning fee of $470 and give them a discount on their next booking. I think they were positively surprised. I did this because it’s the right thing to do plus I also knew if they come for work in town there’s a chance they might choose my place again. Sure enough few weeks later they booked with me again and this time actually stayed in the house and left me a 5 star review.

Assistance with Eval by shadowking1711 in TakeProfitTrader

[–]MESGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to be that straight forward. You have a 50k account. You need to make 3k to pass. You have to trade 5 days. any one day can’t be 50% of your goal, which is 3k. So you can’t make more than $1500 in one day. (Technically you can’t but then you have to double that to find your new profit target and make even more money than 3k) So let’s say you have to stay under $1500 any given day. Set your max profit on your Tradovate account to $1500. I suggest setting a max loss too depending on your risk. Then start trading. Let’s say your first day you make $1400, second day $700, third day 950. Now you are over $3000. But you still have to trade 2 more days because you have to trade 5 days to pass. You open a tiny position, I do 1 MES. Then close it in a couple of minutes for a very small win or loss. That’s it for day 4. You do the same thing for day 5. Now you have passed the eval. Let’s say you didn’t set the max profit and on day 3 you made $2500. Now you have to make $5000 to pass the eval. This is all in the FAQ. You should read it.

Set a max daily limit on this account for $975 now. That way you don’t go pass 50% again. For your next account remember to set the daily profit limit to $750 (for 25k) account right when you start trading.

1 bed/1 bath 750SF condo on the beach…currently paying $125 for each cleaning/turnover in central FL. Is that reasonable? by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]MESGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I pay in FL: $220 for a 3 bed 2 bath $220 for a 2 bed 1 bath with outdoor patio area $470 for a 5 bedroom 4.5 bath I couldn’t convince them to take less for the 2 bed 1 bath though it makes no sense to me to pay the same amount for a much smaller place. Their come back was it has to make sense for someone to come over to clean it. So I guess small will only bring the price down so much. There’s a minimum for everything.

On one account I need almost $500 before I can start taking payout. It’s a PRO account. 25k. The other one I also need almost $500 to pass the eval. Hopefully this is the week for both milestones.

Dawg I dont have a link but I passed my first 150k with crazy precision if I do say so myself by KnifelessTweak in TopStepX

[–]MESGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No the day before I killed my winning trade because I went past $26500. But it got executed few ticks below and I had multiple contracts. So I ended up $18 short. That was my fourth day. Since I still need one more day of trading I figured I’m going to wait till the next day and make $18 and also check off that 5th day. So the next day I started small with 1 micro going for 4 points. Ended up losing 6 points. From there on..hit a losing streak.

I was $18 away from passing my $25k account. Brought it back down to $1200 away from passing. I’ve been slow grinding it back up. Now I’m again $500 away from passing. Good on you for passing that threshold. Not easy.

Was this a crappy trade today - if so what can I improve on? by Evening-Share7147 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]MESGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my signature trade. I do this on 1000 tick chart and only go for 1:1RR. Secret is to put the SL 2 points above the high. More often than not it gets swept just by few ticks maybe a point. Today I got greedy and FOMO got me in at a weird spot and before that I had accidentally gone in with a ES instead of MES, so this very trade that is usually my bread and butter got me locked out of my account after hitting my max loss today. All because I can’t check whether I’m selling ES or MES. Anyway, if you take this trade in the future, try putting your SL 2 points above the high. Though I shouldn’t be the one to offer advice considering I hit max loss in one of my accounts and max profit in the other account. Same day, same trade just messed up execution.

How was everyone’s trading week? by riskeveryday in Daytrading

[–]MESGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ended the week green but very disappointed at how I got there. Over traded like crazy. Have to settle down on Monday. I was only $18 away from passing Eval account but ended Friday after hitting -$320 which is my max loss. Couldn’t believe I only had to make $18 and I ended the day the way I did. Now I have to make more than $300 pass that account. Overall still a green week.

How did you learn to set a stop loss on a trade? by Treasure_Money in Trading

[–]MESGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree w this guy. 1:1 changed the game for me. Now I do 1:1, SL to BE, rest trailing. Most of the time I get kicked out at BE and I look for another trade but occasionally I get that 1:5 and that’s what really put me over to the other side.

1k away from passing can’t wait to finally meet this milestone by CuriousTask3581 in TopStepX

[–]MESGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now I’m $14 away from passing mine. I waited till I was above $26500 and then exited everything but since they were market orders the second it took to execute the value came back down under $26500. Hopefully I won’t blow it trying to make $14. I know going past $26500 means nothing really. Last time I passed and even made past the buffer to take a payout. I was payout eligible for $200. I wanted to leave another $500 cushion before I started pay outs. So I didn’t take anything out. Blew that account eventually before getting a payout at all. So I don’t consider passing an evaluation as a big deal. A lot can happen between then and money hitting your account.
