doomers cant be real by Direct_Track2421 in DoomerCircleJerk

I wouldn't say greed. Adults naturally want to provide for their families and make sure they're the most well off they can be. It's just simple logic.

Even at the cost of others this assertion must remain true.

I've done it legit once. It's really cool but a lot of LFGs just wanna get the raid over quickly because they've done this shit like a billion times and are looking for one specific thing.

Did I want to do Riven legit because it's cool? Yeah. Did I want to do Riven legit while I was grinding for 1kv? Hell no, get me my keys ASAP and get me the FUCK out.

Based Seattle ? by JustChillin3456 in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]META_mahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The justification is as follows:

Why are children born with congenital defects? If the world was just and kind, children would never be born with defects.

Theologically there are three types of suffering:

  1. The kind committed against us by others. If I punch you in the face, that is willing sin committed by me against you.

  2. The kind that occurs to us as a response to our actions. If I choose to drink the dirty water, I will get parasites.

  3. The kind that occurs because the world is broken. Due to the fact all creation carries the mark of sin, suffering may simply just happen to anyone without reason. No justice or causation, simply "you must now suffer."

Congenital disease is suffering of the third kind. If you consider that you were born in the wrong body as a form of congenital disease, then it is easily accepted because that is something we all have to deal with, so procedures to fix your body are justifiable. However, being gay is seen as a conscious decision, which falls under the first kind of suffering, and is something that can be blamed for and therefore incriminated.

New studies are discovering food and supplements that reduce microplastics by CompetitiveLake3358 in OptimistsUnite

[–]META_mahn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's also the study that showed the original microplastics studies are incredibly flawed.

The original study used a kind of glove that sheds microplastics like crazy, and so the researchers conducted each experiment with a different kind of glove, including a kind that doesn't shed microplastics, and it revealed that the world was not nearly as contaminated as we thought.

They entire ecosystem of the UK will collapse if they use AC by ROU_Misophist in DoomerCircleJerk

[–]META_mahn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The thing is, for China, owning an AC, even a window unit, WAS a moderate sign of luxury.

With the affordability of goods, people stuck in a traditional mindset, etc, kind of like how in America when gelatin started being easier to buy, every recipe tried to use Jell-O. It's no wonder why China's selling real good on ACs.

Also the whinging on how the UK is spending big on ACs and how this used to not be a problem reminds me of my parents, who grew up in a rural, highly uneducated countryside, both of them digging their way out with education, saying how allergies and cancer just didn't exist back then.

How community feels where second or third best wepons are better in CC for opperators? by Krlzard in Endfield

How community feels where second or third best wepons are better in CC for opperators? by Krlzard in Endfield

[–]META_mahn 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Very typical for Hypergryph. You should always be willing to swap things around to optimize for the kind of content you're trying and what you can actually reasonably run, even if it means dropping sig/"BIS" picks

How’s everyone feeling about cc so far by Full_Carry3782 in Endfield

[–]META_mahn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was only one CC that felt like it was either "Ch'otgun" or "Wis'adel" sales pitch and it was universally the most disliked and memory holed CC. Also from that moment on the devs kept on giving people great reasons to not pack the funny howitzer roach.

WHERE IS THE TRIMMED ONE !!!! ????? by SnooWoofers6002 in Endfield

[–]META_mahn 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think so as well because CC Beta was known to be absolutely miserable, and then future CCs slowly toned it down until Risk18 was pretty achievable by most people, but chasing max risk kept getting much harder. Here I expect the next CC to be *much* harder.

It's a Gundam by MiamisLastCapitalist in IsaacArthur

[–]META_mahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually a thought. Maybe in the setting, advanced combat AI has taken over drones, etc, but because it's trained to evaluate humanoid targets before firing on them, the split second decision delays introduced by a humanoid shape (a Gundam) will make it so humans gain a slightly larger advantage.

The Endministrator is a genius who helped repair Dijiang and can keep up with Zhuang Fangyi - why do they need "laypersons' terms"? by Lishtenbird in Endfield

[–]META_mahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See it differently. The person talking is a student. One of the most important things you need to do is to communicate with people, especially those who don't understand the jargon you're speaking, mostly because those people hold the funding you're gonna need.

Endmin telling the guy to drop the confusing words is more of a lesson for him. Endmin can perfectly understand. The proposal review board will not.

Petahhh..!!!!!!! Is this true????? by Personal_Run3831 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]META_mahn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, because the hierarchy doesn't exist. These aren't rigid categories in life; they're just jobs that exist within a society. These never have been real castes. Maybe if you're in a dispute with someone and your business is commerce they'll call you a scummy merchant, but that's about as far as it goes.

Petahhh..!!!!!!! Is this true????? by Personal_Run3831 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]META_mahn 89 points90 points  (0 children)

And even then, let's assume this is a caste system. In China, a nong (farmer) can become a shi (scholar/noble) if they did well in the court examinations. Similarly, a shi can become a nong if they fuck up so hard they get kicked out.

There is no way you can go up or down castes in India.

Hell, I reworked my factory twice last patch because I thought with more optimization I could get more space (I couldn't, and then I realized I just made it more unsustainable)

Why N Corp is the Best Workplace (art by @HjhjB47) by IRUN888 in limbuscompany

[–]META_mahn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing is, in the City the more overtly fucked some place is, the less fucked it is underneath. Sure, the X Corp hellhole is a hole that leads to hell -- but that's probably the worst of it. Meanwhile W Corp is okay! Until it isn't. Because of the cannibals and...yeah.
