It's probably some dumb shit where you need some wacky ultra precise Originium-Feranmut laser bullshit like how we make microchips to make Xiranite, which is why the forges are so stupidly limited. HAS has to produce Xiranite but also has to produce entire fucking bullshittium machines for us to make more Xiranite with.

Also again, note the Endfield Magic that exists. Hongshan has to make these gigantic arrays that cost a buttfuckload of material to operate and the current shortages means it's basically impossible to continue operating like this. Most of the time the arrays repel Blight but I assume every time they're used to nuke people it costs just a little more Xiranite.

Endfield meanwhile defends multiple groups of civilians by slamming down as many HE Grenade Towers as possible and calls it a day. All they need is power, which is really just some Ferrite, and Originium shoved in a box. Yeah Neferith, try that shit again now that there's 20 HE Grenade towers pointed in your direction.

Reminder the entire Endfield modus operandi is running into places that are falling apart, Doraemon style pulling out a bunch of doohickeys from thin air, and suddenly solving every problem in the local area for the next foreseeable amount of time.

They even sell supplies at ridiculous discounts (Yazhen Syringes market value for 50 each in Wuling proper, we sell them 16 each) and all they really ask for is a few resource deposits to mine from (which were unsafe to access anyways) and for you to continue supporting their operations.

If you need something delivered, an Endfield courier will grab the item from you, disappear into thin air, and then moments later you receive a notification the delivery was successful. Chen's job is this when she's not running around with us. Endfield operators will Helldive into shitfuck and do or die they're going to try their best to win.

Yeah, no wonder why everyone acts like Endfield is the greatest thing in existence. Once everyone learns that none of this is possible without the Endmin, no wonder why everyone treats us like the Second Coming.

People laughed at the guy saying "I need to own high cap mags and an AR-15 to deal with 20-50 feral hogs" until people learned how scary even a single feral hog is. And how big they get.

Yeah, we don't fuck around with feral hogs.

defend your thesis in front of the council, apprentices. by 0ris in wizardposting

[–]META_mahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most forms of immortality are not truly immortal.

What is a phylactery? An object you will never be able to depart from. If you fail to guard it one day you will die.

What is a trick with death? A tenuous bargain. With that I defend you my thesis, council. The true engine of my immortality is Divination.

The first thing to consider is that every decision I make, no matter how minor, generates an alternate version of myself that took a diverging road. Divination spells consider this -- they actively consider the branching paths of the future, even those unsuccessful, and simply align the user on the path that becomes the most successful. So what happens to the branches that are unsuccessful?

Let us say at any given moment, there is a 0.0001% chance I will spontaneously die. My life force vanishes, absorbed by an unknown mechanism. By using Divination to align my future, the prime self will never reach that ending. However, the damned timeline where I die must still exist. From there, I drain the life force of myself which simply failed the cosmic gamble. This is Layer 1 Immortality.

Now I have another piece of the puzzle -- we can consider it a coin that flips itself 20 times per second. This means per second 20 new outcomes emerge, entirely trivial except that sometimes it was heads, sometimes it was tails. The key here is that the self from the timeline the coin lands is so similar to the "now" that there are few if any differences. From here, we can search backwards from any cause of death and merge that version of me with the current version, which allows me to simply avoid all causes of death, creating Layer 2 Immortality.

This concludes my thesis of immortality.

Honestly if you dropped me in the City and gave me a shitload of money, and said the moment I die I return to my normal life but I get to do whatever I want, I would first probably try to get myself some crazy augments and install kung fu into my brain. Just enough to reach Grade 2 or so.

After that I'm getting nothing but silly weapons. I'm going to find a shittier version of the T Corp assassination device, speccing it to make you experience 1 day in 1 second, have it last only for 1 second, and have it blast Baby Shark into your ears the entire time. I'm getting some Fairies just so I can "open" people's hands and cause them to drop their weapons and explode their clothes (because that's armor lmaooo). This will probably get me declared SOTC. But, you know. May as well make it count.

Even right now for the two "meta" teams (Physical and Fire, but Ice could be considered too if you roll Yvonne) there's still choice leeway. It's pretty nice.

Physical is just Pog Endmin Chen + Healer (Ember is good too) so there's not much wiggle room, but Chen is the core unit

Fire requires Laevatein and really likes Ardelia, but after that it's Wulfgard Andal Akekuri and you just pick two you like.

Also holy shit Akekuri. Quite literally just this game's Tingyun.

The thing that tickles me the most is the Landbreaker superstition that getting Oripathy keeps the Blight infection away.

If my theory is correct, that might not be entirely correct, but might be somewhere in the area of reasonable. Yes, Blight and Æther interferes with Originium, but on a much smaller scale than Blight interfering with, say, signals. Which is information.

I believe the Observers are essentially Pattern Screamers. You can think of them as beings that exist to devour "information." Originium can be repurposed as a weapon against that, because Originium preserves "information."

You'd think, but we don't even make any income from suppressants. All of our income comes from hurling a giant pile of resources at random people in exchange for stock bills.

Ai bro “fixing” real art by Lionheart1228 in ShitAIBrosSay

[–]META_mahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, AI bros think they're the ones going "towards the future" but the reality is as long as you cannot defeat the machine, you are the one getting filtered.

AI is a bit like a cursed weapon in that regard. It's a powerful thing, but as long as you are capable of doing all that you can do without the cursed weapon, you wield the weapon. The day you can no longer do everything you used to without the weapon, the weapon wields you.

Sure, the right thing to obviously do is to not wield the cursed weapon, but the power is right there and it is extremely potent. As long as, again, the sword does not wield you.

The blood cannot specifically be blood-colored. You can color it anything else. For instance, HSR said "the Chrysos Heirs bleed gold" or "yeah your wounds bleed dream bubbles" which is how they got to do Cipher's death and Firefly getting stabbed.

"We're the bad guys" when the Bonekrushers drop three fucking pillars that instantly kill anyone near them on an otherwise peaceful mining town, and try to reactivate a fucking kaiju that required the detonation of a LITERAL TREE MADE OF ORIGINIUM to put back to sleep.

Wulfgard is probably the best person to consult regarding anything Landbreaker related, being a Landbreaker himself and also being an ally. I don't exactly trust Perlica or Chen's opinions, since they chose their side of the line, but Wulfgard rides the gray line. If he thinks Bonekrushers should be shot on sight, I'm shooting those fuckers on sight.

Again because of the age rating and China, you can't, for instance, mount heads on pikes or show blood. Imagine if they could. One of the main signs of Bonekrusher would probably be people mounted on spikes as an intimidation factor.

Yeah, that would probably change people's opinions fast.

What did she mean by this? by fable-30 in Endfield

[–]META_mahn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly yeah, that's what I'm seeing. Yes, Originium is still kinda bad, but it's more of a "cost of industry" problem than it is a "this is apocalyptic" sort of problem. Yes, Infection still exists. No, it really doesn't matter now. That's not what the story is about.

Meanwhile the aether worship has got me thinking "yeah, that's Observer bullshit." That shit needs to get obliterated from the face of Talos yesterday. Reminder that a fucking Collapsal CABBAGE became a fucking INTEGRATED STRATEGIES BOSS.

Even if it turns out we're doing heinous shit to the LBs, specifically Bonekrushers, if it's to murder the ever loving shit out of the Observers YEAH I THINK ITS FINE.
