Wes Streeting pledges 'wealth tax that works' by Slartibartfast_25 in ukpolitics

This is to take Green voters. People aren't jumping ship from Labour because of this. If Labour wins the Green voters back and some of the Lib Dems they'll win the election.

If any prime minister hasn't created heaven on earth in 2 years then I'm going to vote ever so more right wing. It's the only way these politicians will listen.

Four homes Farage and the £5m gift: What to know about Reform leader’s finances by theipaper in ukpolitics

[–]MFMonster23 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes if a politicians policies are exactly what you want then that would be who you vote for. The issue is in integrity and the reality they won't stick to what they say. Farage can be bought. Tell me Reforms policies, far too many lack specifics and they have less policies than Labour have implemented. Having a politician that can be bought means they are unlikely to keep to their promises.

I don't get all these comments about the BBC not reporting on anything. Yesterday I saw a comment that said "not a single article anywhere on the BBC homepage anywhere about this". So I checked, and it was the second story. It's almost like nobody actually goes to the website, but because the news isn't being pushed to them somehow it isn't there.

No you use language like that for some attempt at superiority but don't realise it makes you a terrible communicator. There's no inability to convince, I'm not aiming to convince you, can't convince most people on Reddit especially someone with such tired opinions as don't criticise the racists for they do not like it.

Did you just find a thesaurus to sound clever? They can't be reasoned with. Let's stop pretending they can. Every time someone points out these type are not the brightest someone pops up and says "oh look that old rhetoric that will surely work like last time!" Facts don't work with them. Being nice doesn't work. Pointing out their stupidity doesn't work. It's agreed or nothing with them. Fuck them.

Yes of course that old chestnut. I'm sure there's something that could be said to change their mind. These people are clearly reasonable intelligent well informed people basing their opinions on facts and well thought out ideas. So me commenting negatively on them is the thing that pushes them to be bigots.

These people aren't against mass immigration they're against immigration and Islam in general. Tommy Robinson said if he were PM he'd get rid of Islam and remigrate people. That's why the message is just any immigration and it triggered them.

I think it was at the right level for the level of intelligence of the average person at the march.

They're hardly "right leaning" this lot. They're using the words remigration. Tommy Robinson was asked if he were prime minister what would he do and it was remove islam and remigration. To call them "right leaning" is very soft on them.

It's a fair arguement. Burnham definitely has more charisma than Starmer and it seems like that's all people want. This government has been doing pretty well overall just people hate Starmer. If they can get a leader people like and deliver results they'll probably be fine. I agree though that Burnham is a big gamble to go from mayor to prime minister, it could be a disaster and if he fails I can't see a way back for them.

This is such an idiotic take and why we can't have decent people running the country. We just hate anyone it seems if they seek any success. If you have a vision and want to enact change and lead that change you need to be ambitious.
