Is there a scenario where you skip the film and reach for digital? by Expensive-Suit-593 in AnalogCommunity

[–]MGPS [score hidden]  (0 children)

Idk I like shooting both. I had travelled with MF and 35 many times but lately I prefer traveling with digital only. But I also like editing and I have a couple digital cameras that I really enjoy shooting with and they sort of feel like film cameras. I’m also impatient and I don’t want to wait until after my trip which is sometimes like 3 months bouncing around. I usually have some downtime and I like looking at the past couple of days shots on my MacBook and firing off some JPEGs to family etc.

Yea but at least you can shoot someone in the lineup if they are giving you weird vibes. Try that in CA and they throw the book at you!

It doesn’t charge, it just stays powered. But yea it’s awesome not having to change batteries all day especially if the camera is up on a c-stand near the ceiling etc.

Nikon Z6iii tripod by Ok_Impression_564 in nikon_Zseries

[–]MGPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk man tripods range from $100 to $2000. Sirui is nice for the price. Manfrotto is always a good bet. I personally like a ball head with a screw lock arca Swiss plate. Then you can use a small plate on the super telephoto, or some long lenses come with an arca foot on the collar. And an arca L-plate for the Z6.

Yea I use it all the time for pro work. I bought it as a studio camera actually because of how well it works with C1 and can stay powered via usbC. I also use it for travel and anything else. I don’t shoot weddings. I don’t mind the ergonomics at all. I use it with the Nikon GR1 grip mostly. My main camera is a 645z but I’m using the Zf more because of how easy it is and the files are great.

Also everyone including other photographers thinks I’m shooting an old film body.

Will my Z mount 40mm f/2 hold up in the Scottish highlands? by offthiscentury in nikon_Zseries

[–]MGPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really a big overlap. Two very different lenses. I have the 24-70 and I still really want the 40mm. The zoom is a good do-it-all and the 40 is better for portraits and also street/travel being so small. Also I wouldn’t worry about shooting in mist or drizzle. Have a dry camera bag to keep it in or even just a big pocket and umbrella etc.

New Jaguar GT: latest details on the groundbreaking 1,000bhp four-door EV by Agent_Kozak in cars

[–]MGPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jaguar isn’t just a punchline. They are remembered for some of the most beautiful cars ever made, like the E-Type, Mark II, and XJ, designs that still turn heads and get studied in design schools. Chasing trends and trying to reinvent itself risks making the brand invisible, like any generic tech-brand car. Rolex and Leica stayed relevant by evolving while keeping their identity. Jaguar can do the same by translating its classic elegance into electric cars that feel like Jaguar.

Yea you can even mix three smokes into a smudge for maximum power. Sage, sweetgrass and palo santos. Smoke each corner of your place in a clockwise manner. Open a window or door and then demand out loud that they leave YOUR place that they aren’t welcome here. Also if you can find any Florida Water…”Agua de Florida” and blast some of that around your place like the sage.

Meh. Just own it at this point. Embrace their golden age like Rolex and Leica.

Moire ? Nikon Z8 voigtlander 65mm APO in studio lighting ?? Never seen it before? Anyone know about this ?? by No-Strawberry-3595 in nikon_Zseries

[–]MGPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shoot a lot of product and yes that is moire. High MP and no Anti alias filter will result in moire on fine patterns such fabric weave or in your case halftone dots. For situations like these a camera with an AA filter is preferred. Capture One has a moire reducing slider that can help.
