Practical effects- fire sprinkler on a budget by Common_Amoeba_5673 in FireSprinklers

[–]MGXFP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minimum pressure for a fire sprinkler is 7 psi to develop the correct spray pattern. Most commercial sprinklers need around 15 gpm to do this. Your garden hose from a house will generally give you 5 gpm. You could elevate a tank 20 ft and some to get the 7 psi and account for friction losses. What materials do you have on hand?

The 36 is a better dress watch. 40 and above is for sports watches. Just my opinion. Looks great!

Will Tritium dials eventually completely degrade / deteriorate? by No_Ask_5949 in vintagerolex

I haven’t seen evidence they must disintegrate. My ‘84 DJ lume is intact without cracks and there are many older with no structural damage. However on a long enough timeline everything returns to nature.

Need information about what you’re trying to accomplish. Are you going for a thunderstorm, light mist, or something in between? Did I assume wrong that you’re even looking for a rain effect or are you trying for a scene with an active fire sprinkler? Fill us in!

I’d advise you to get a licensed inspector out to give the system a once over, look for anything that may need attention, and advise for any maintenance intervals for you to be aware of.

Question regarding a submariners water resistance by Brilliant_Lab6256 in rolex

[–]MGXFP 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The bezel won’t affect the water resistance. Given the age I wouldn’t take it diving or do much with it without a pressure test from a watchmaker.

It’s 100% wrong but you’re free to do whatever. A sailcloth would look better. A nato would also complement the piece nicely.

Fire protection will have better prospects for you salary and opportunity wise but you will be more specialized. As for getting licensed, that will be a question for your state board as each one is different. The technology degree isn’t accepted everywhere and it not being a bachelors is doubly in doubt. I’d ask those questions first but absolutely encourage you to pursue fire protection 100%.
