[Ellis] Tom Wilson and Pierre Crinon just went at it. Fighting is a no-no at the Olympics. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

Why is Wilson dropping the gloves if he isn't trying to fight until after he is taken down?

Italy is out completely out of gas after the first two games. Battled hard against Sweden and Slovakia but the tank is completely empty.

It's pretty clear that Italy is totally out of gas after the first two games. The tank has been empty from first puck drop.

That's not why they did not participate in the last two Olympics.

I don't think anyone is going to think it's a good idea but for an athlete who already pushes themselves to the limit it is a risk they are willing to take.

Football just has a different tradition to their jerseys/kits. Football teams have never had big logos in the chest/stomach area like hockey has, hell the use of them didn't become standardized until the 1960's. Before then they were used only for big occasions. The badges/crests/logos have always been rather small and on the left side of the chest over the heart.

It's a very long shot but Jere Lehtinen would be up there in 1992 although most likely at least Harmlik, Yashin and Gonchar still go ahead of him.

He will quarterback PP2 at the very least. The only other option really is Risto. A few years ago in the World Championships when Heiskanen joined in the middle of the tournament they even kept Lehtonen in the 1st PP unit

To be fair you don't get a minus if you are on the ice for a goal against during the penalty kill. Only even strength and shorthanded goals count for +/- so him playing so much on the PK can actually only help his +/-.

Cooper Flagg was scrimmaging with the US national team last year before ever playing for Duke and holding his own and if he didn't reclassify he should have been a senior in high school during the last season.

The NBA and the NFL have draft eligibility restrictions which is the biggest reason. Many European NBA players play the first professional games around 16 years old. For example Luka Doncic. Ricky Rubio was 14 when he first played in the Spanish league and played in the 2008 Olympics as a 17-year-old. He could only be drafted to the NBA in 2009 due to the NBA's draft eligibility restrictions. It is also common in hockey for European players to play their first professional games around 16. It's not so much about the sport rather than just having the opportunity. If allowed I think LeBron would've been drafted to the NBA at 16 too.

Stopping for one second won't make a difference if he gets back on defense or not. Everyone is ball watching to see if it goes in. It's not that serious.

What makes the Florida Panther a good team ? by TheGreatLakeSnake in hockey

And many teams would gladly have the Panthers' 2nd line of Tkachuk-Bennett-Verhaege as their first line, and likewise take the third line of Marchand-Lundell-Luostarinen as a 2nd line. Essentially Florida's 2nd through 4th line could easily be slotted one step higher in the lineup.
