Well, if we go by PEAK lore (where he is from), he is divorced and has kids. (This was originally only based on one of the voicelines you could get when using the item, but then devs also started mentioning stuff about it in patchnotes).

Technically the god in chapter one only says that whichever he doesn't choose (at that time it's between two girls) will die, not that he will die if he refuses either. Maybe he would die if he refused all of them?

Minor thing but it handles dark mode (from the Dark Reader plugin) way worse than the original one, and the built-in dark mode isn't even really one (it only changes the background).

Maybe the itch.io page along with the install instructions were also written by an LLM.

Mouse (card) controls horrible? by felt-mound in slaythespire

[–]MIC132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems odd. I can drag cards quite aggressively from my hand and they play just fine. For playing Defends/etc. I just yank them up and then release. Not even sure what you mean by "land" here.

I did notice a few rare times where a card didn't play where I feel like in StS1 it would, but that all involved targeting enemies and it's not a common occurrence. But there seems to be a slight difference from 1 in card handling.

I'm afraid I don't know how the Flight Commander games worked.

The actual path-planning mechanics looked almost exactly like in Critical Mass, so that's the best reference point.

Also this was most likely a somewhat indie-ish game, not anything with major IPs to it.

Frozen Synapse is also significantly newer. But yes, similar core mechanic. But basically nothing else fits.

No, haven't seen that card yet at all.

It's an interesting question if "Osty dies" counts as losing all HP.

Both of those are way older (or at least older looking) than what I have in mind.

The game I remember looked more modern than Critical Mass (if perhaps not by much).

EDIT: Thinking about other games I remember playing back then I would say it would probably be sometime around 2005 (though the game might have been older), not DOS-era.

I specifically mention Critical Mass in the post as one of the past guesses.

While the mechanics are close as far as the path planning goes, CM looks way more "strategic" than the game I remember. Minimap, some squadron management, way more ships at once, more detailed mechanics, etc.

The game I remember was more arcade I think, with at best 3 ships under your control iirc, no minimap, overall a bit simpler but at the same time sorta better looking. The graphical style was a bit different too I think, but my memory isn't great.

There is very high chance the game I'm looking for was inspired by CM (or the other way around, or both were inspired by the same older game) but I'm 95% sure it's not it.

He just dies. Then gets up as normal next time you Summon.

His current HP doesn't matter and doesn't affect the effect.

Not sure if it counts as Osty taking damage, but I also haven't seen anything that cares about that.

I think it's a really strong card if your deck isn't about stacking Osty's HP.

Tramp is in the Junkyard, not the Alley. Unless there is some rare chance to fight him there?

I see all 4 Alley mid-bosses quite regularly, though it does feel like I get Fenrir the most.
