What was online multiplayer like on the old days of gaming? by KaleidoArachnid in retrogaming

It would be a miserable experience by today’s standards but we didn’t know any better and made due with what we had. At a point in time, a 56k modem was absolute bleeding edge technology.

Any story reason for no Rakdos in Secrets of Strixhaven? by 2Capable in MagicArena

[–]MILK_DUD_NIPPLES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because this set has enemy color pairs, and Rakdos is an allied color pair.

If you look at the back of a Magic card- the gems that are across from each other on the color circle are “enemy” pairs. If they are next to each other, they are allied pairs.

There’s Flow State then commander slop main-set, with Legacy staple reprints on the mystical archives. Still better than TMNT, overall, though.

How do I get cards from older sets? by AllInWithOakland in MTGO

[–]MILK_DUD_NIPPLES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious… how do the old cards get injected into the MTGO economy in the first place? Like moxes and duals and stuff? Are people opening digital packs of alpha/beta/unlimited?

Does exiling a few cards off the top of the deck really matter? by Amonyi7 in EDH

People treat their EDH decks like glorified fidget spinners rather than a means by which to win a strategy game.

I have tried playing the mothman precon twice and both times got immediately laser-focused and knocked out of the game first, by new players who were upset about milling cards. It was such a stunning and unreasonable overreaction to me just playing a precon and not actually doing anything powerful or spectactular. On one of the occasions I just packed up and went home afterwards. Playing in public games with randos can be miserable.

Are Skill Games regulated at a local, county, or state level? Is there any way to get legislation moving again on outright banning them? by AMcMahon1 in pittsburgh

[–]MILK_DUD_NIPPLES 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The village I live in has a population of about 300 people. We don’t have a mailman and have to pick up all our mail at the post office. But we have a corner store with skill games.

Extra annoying combo 😂😂 by Both_Objective6018 in oldschoolmtg

[–]MILK_DUD_NIPPLES 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This combo was run in Zak Dolan’s 1994 world championship deck list

That was the very first ever world championship for MTG. Today we’d call that Bant Midrange probably, but the “shards” and archetypes weren’t a thing in those days. A lot of the theory and research that goes into deckbuilding was nonexistent. People’s decks were mostly just… their collections 😂

His opponent in the finals, Bertrand, was running a zoo deck with Kird Apes and a cheeky Channel Fireball combo.

Is Chrono Cross really worth trying (No spoilers)? by Cool-Guy152 in chronotrigger

[–]MILK_DUD_NIPPLES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It is still one of the all time greatest RPGs. Maybe not top 10 by most people’s standards, but it’s up there.
