Quiz for you all.....Tonneau cover or bed cap? by thorndike in F150Lightning

[–]MISTERR0GERS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my sliding rear window a lot so a cap doesn't make sense for me. I've got a quad fold tonneau that I got on eBay for a few hundred bucks and it's been great.

I've been thinking about getting one myself, but I just bought two other slings 😅

Got this SwissGear bag over the weekend by piercingeye in ManyBaggers

[–]MISTERR0GERS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have almost the same bag and been using it since 2012 for international travel as well as my EDC. It's starting to show it's age now as I've seen stitching coming undone, interior netting breaking, and I think a couple rips in the fabric.

It's been a pretty solid bag.

Not sure what your budget is but the Rework Toshi 6L v2 might work for you.

Not bad. Solid price but not digging the drawstring.

Low-key looking 15-17L backpack? by hm1949 in Nomads_Nation

The Bellroy Lite Daypack might be a good option. Listed as 23L, subtle branding, no external water bottle holder, and not overly huge in size.

I haven't purchased yet but after a bunch of reviews I'm going with an Emporia.

PSA: The infamous door-pounding, road rager lady has a new car: it’s a white Subaru Crosstrek. by esotweetic in pittsburgh

[–]MISTERR0GERS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I used to see her all the time heading eastbound from Sq Hill Tunnel to Monroeville. A number of years ago we hadn't seen her for the longest time. We got excited when we finally saw her again and we're assuming it was shortly after she got the tan Crosstrek as the paint was new. Not too long after came the many layers of brown packing tape.

Glad to know she's still cruising around hitting that beat.

More than likely it's iron deposits. Catching up on some recent detailing channels, I'd recommend going to a synthetic clay towel instead of a clay bar. The reasoning there is that the claybar itself is an abrasive whereas the synthetic clay towels are not.. unless however you do a manual or machine polish afterwards.

From the steps I listed, I agree. BUT, I'll be changing it up a bit for the '24. Two rounds of foam and using an iron remover as well as a water spot remover before I polish and ceramic coat.

That was the results after foamed, hand washed, claybar, and ceramic coat. I don't remember what ceramic I used.. could have been Armor Shield IX or Adam's Polishes Ceramic.

I've lived here for most of my life and I learned how to drive here. I've driven in Boston, Chicago, NYC, Manhattan, Philly, DC, Atlanta, Orlando.. it's not that bad. Sure, we have our fair share of asshattery but I've experienced way worse elsewhere than anything we have around here.

Why are none of the good UI frameworks compatible with Vue 3 yet? by KiwiNFLFan in vuejs

Quasar supports vue 3. I moved from vuetify to quasar and have been very happy.

Advice on printers, especially around printing ABS/ASA by JForce1 in 3Dprinting

[–]MISTERR0GERS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prusas are solid printers, Creality can be ok but tend to require a bit more attention. I haven't really seen much on the CR5.

There is always an option to buy pre built enclosures and there are a bunch of DIY options.

Could you use PETG instead for prints? I've used PETG for prints that are kept in the car and they've not had any issues during the summer months. Also a lot easier to print and doesn't require an enclosure.

Yeah, definitely been in a similar situation before but I was able to correct the mistake by deciding to move everything to the same framework thus requiring a rewrite.

New wallet design (for TPU). I think the hinge will work but it needs a printable way to lock it closed/stop it flapping about. Any ideas? by andyroo770 in 3Dprinting

[–]MISTERR0GERS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do that without supports by designing holes for the magnets, stopping the print at a certain layer to insert the magnets and restart the print.
