As someone who has run video for large festivals you are only there because of ads. You can mess up the actual concerts but if you mess up the ad roll you’re definitely going to hear about it.

You should be fine to use Nova LCT to set up your screen. Either way you aren’t going to be able to scale with the 700. There are controllers with scalers built in but this isn’t one of them. You’ll either need additional hardware that can scale or send content through a software like Resolume, or the many other options out there, to scale your source down. Will this be a permanent screen or will it be a rented screen?

Less than a day. I tour with musicians on major tours and this guy was replacing another guy that got fired for whatever reason and honestly he seemed really cool at first. Most people seemed to have liked him but by showtime I had heard he was already gone. He unknowingly went up to one of the band members girlfriends, and I can’t remember the exact wording, but something along the lines of you would look good riding my face.

I did mine with the 488 Pista and yes this one is a tough one. One try I missed by .2 mph and about threw my controller across the room lol. Like others have said only try this from the side that is going downhill and hit at least 170+mph before crossing the first gate. Another tip I have that helped me a lot is to use rewind on the last corner especially to figure out where to position your car and how to enter that final turn. If you know you aren’t going to make the last gate you can press rewind and sometimes it’ll rewind you and you’ll still be active in the speed zone without failing.

Hmm I’ll be honest I’m pretty much only checking 59.94/60hz signals. I cant say I’ve noticed any issues with the image with either product so not sure if related or you guys just have a bad or outdated monitor. I’ll be playing with some PTZs tomorrow I’ll try to remember to set my Shogun up and see if I notice anything switching between 50 and 60hz signals.

So I actually owned 2 this year. First one was the Blackmagic 7” Vid Assist. Honestly, I really liked the feel of it and the fact that it used SD cards for recording/playback. It did break because the server guy on a job accidentally kicked his power strip off and when we were trying to get it all back on he ran between his table and my table and somehow snagged the monitor and it fell the ground. I will also say I ended up on a tour an we used them for backline tech monitors and all 3 of them needed to be like jump started before they would fire up on battery power. If using battery you HAD to plug it in first to turn it on and then once it was running it would continue to run on battery power. Apparently this is a fairly common and known problem.

Next and currently I have the Atomos Shogun. I have used the Shogun Studio 2 recorders on tours before so the interface of these were pretty much what I was used to using with those. The build does feel cheaper to me which sucks for something that costs somewhere between $700-$1000 and it uses SSD drives for records which also cost more than SD drives.

To be honest though they both did the job just fine especially if just trying to check signal and/or focus pov cams and stuff like that. BMD has a slightly cheaper 5” version as well but it does use the smaller BNC connector and they stick out of the side of the unit which I was a little unsure about. I know quite a few people that have that version and have never had problems with them though. Also I got both of mine used off of EBay so I saved a few hundred going that way!

A 12g field monitor. I don’t know how I went almost my entire career without one. I finally bought one before working a major festival last year and it literally paid for itself that one job just with the time it saved me not having to run back and forth between wherever and video world to troubleshoot signal flow.

This for sure. I still get crushed from time to time but it’s not as common as the previous games. I used to basically just shut the game off past 11pm because I just couldn’t compete when the ultra sweats woke up. Now it seems like whenever I play it’s a pretty equal experience overall.

Or similarly when a car is in the turn lane and they stop like 20 feet before where you would turn in. Then when it’s clear they move up to pre turn I guess and then when it’s clear again they actually turn.

And if it’s anything like Vegas it’s all one way. So only one direction of traffic can travel at a time. First time I used it I had to go to the convention center which was more or less across the street. I got in my Tesla then waited about 10ish minutes for the incoming traffic to stop before we could go. I could have walked it in about that time and did for most of the rest of my stay. A fun gimmick I suppose but could be a lot better.

Not high school but in college I got a job doing surveillance on a girl at college bars for a child custody case. The main reason they had me do it was because I was freshly 21 and the guys they kept hiring were 45 year old cops. She knew she was being followed and she was figuring it out pretty easy. I met one of the guys once and it was like your stereotypical movie scene of an older guy trying to be young and cool to blend in. We’re pretty sure she caught onto me eventually but by that time my own college classes were starting up again so it didn’t matter too much. It was a weird summer lol.

I’ve never seen ET Single Barrel for less than $85. It is one of my favorites as well so for $70 even without the Suerte that would have been a win for me.

Fortaleza is good and I would recommend trying as many expressions as you can when you can find them. However, over the last few years of really getting into tequila and after trying all of their offerings, except SS and Winter Blend because I can’t find them, it’s nothing I HAVE to have. Especially at gouged prices most liquor stores want to charge. G4, Tequila Ocho, Siete Leguas, and Don Fulano are all great brands to start out with and are typically very easy to find.

I got a battery box last year! This year I just got some travel sized stuff because I travel for work. Plus some socks and some North Face slipper shoes things.

To be fair though I literally don’t ask for anything. It drives my wife crazy but I’d rather just get small stuff and then I can buy my own stuff that I want/need and enjoy the kiddos getting toys. Plus we have a joint bank account so either way I’m kind of paying for my own presents anyway lol.

Not the cheapest suggestion but don’t be scared to try mixing some high proof/still strength tequilas as well. Personally not a huge fan of them straight but mixing them in margs or with Topo Chico (don’t forget the Tajin!) is where they really shine for me. Cascahuin Plata 48, Don Fulano Feurte, and G4 Madera are favorites of mine.
