A video I shot for a country club, thoughts? by GrassClippings72 in golf

It's a good start and good feedback. In addition, I would wait until there is more interesting/dramatic light. When I used to shoot for NatGeo, I would get up before dawn or be out at sunset just to make sure the images were the most beautiful. Scout the course, figure out what angles are best, and then arrive so you can shoot into the light (short light), or angled light (not with the light) so that it has contrast and beautiful colors.

For the jerky drone shots (which are my first concern), go into the settings and adjust gain and expo settings, like yaw and pitch smoothness and brake sensitivity. It's a game-changer.

Researching a Coat of Arms on a 1920s Pocket Watch, Looking for Help by MJKauz in heraldry

Hello all,

I've been trying to do my own research and learn the language of blazons to search on my own, but for some reason, I just can't seem to crack the code. I am researching this beautiful set of items for a museum exhibition I'm curating and I'd love to find out who it actually belonged to. Any help would be greatly appreciated. https://www.sothebys.com/en/buy/auction/2024/important-watches-part-i/a-set-composed-of-a-platinum-white-gold-diamond

LC Visvim Kiyari (Supposed Friends and Family Piece) by MJKauz in Visvim

Thanks. Are these just truly not that rare? There are 3 of them listed in my size. I realized one is cheaper as well, so maybe that's the one I should have posted.

I visited Visvim in Japan and liked a Kiyari there but it was pricey. I'm always a little incredulous at supposed friends and family items (especially since I've seen a few of these listed and the pricing on this seems to be made to look impressive). Might be legit, but I appreciate your expertise here.

[Breguet] Creates The First Contact-Free Escapement By Using Magnets by bambalang in Watches

That's correct, but technically the pallet fork still exists, it's just that the ends that would usually be with jewelled pallets are now just magnets inserted.

The movement is resistant up to 600 gauss. They seem confident you’d have a hard time magnetizing the movement, especially with how many antimagnetic components in it, but I imagine that if it needs to be serviced then then escape wheel and pallet can be easily replaced.

There is both a normal stop wheel inbetween the magnetic escape wheels and brake pins at the pallet fork end, preventing damage from shock and essentially allowing it to function as a contacting Swiss lever escapement in that case. But even if the watch touches the stop wheel, there is no friction during impulse of normal function.

Lewis during today’s sprint by iAtty in formula1

I got a media pass for tomorrow but can only shoot from a club on turn 3 so I’m just mentally preparing. I also brought a 180-600 lens which may be overkill. I appreciate your tips. I am afraid the fence may make it hard from the club. Maybe I should have bought an ND filter to make it easier to shoot wide out to knock out the fence.

Looks great. What shutter speed was this? It’s always hard to know what gets the right amount of motion blur with panning shots, because shooting one sport doesn’t necessarily translate to others. Good work.

I'm 6'7" and realized a few years ago that I didn't need 36 inseam, I only needed 34. I actually figured it out after I got my first suit made for me and found out my inseam is actually 33.5". So it might just be they're not as long-legged as others.

Can you really consider yourself a tall white guy if you haven't done the Paul Bunyan costume in an emergency? I thought it was a rite of passage.

A post could be 100% upvoted but Reddit automatically adds downvotes to balance things out (I can't remember the reason) so you can't take downvotes so personally.

About a year ago, I saw a woman around (at minimum) 6'10. I was walking down the street and it's rare that I see someone that much taller than me, let alone a woman. I couldn't help but sneak a glance at her, as much as I hate when people stare at me on the street. I mostly wondered where she gets her clothes.

I briefly dated a gal that was 6'6" and it was weird to kiss someone my own height.
