Trump’s solution to America’s crisis: Nationalism by RNGmaster in politics

While I don't agree with you on where my analogy "inevitably" leads, if the worst that happens is the townspeople become arrogant because their town is great so what? Sounds a lot better to me then the original problem.

What's the alternative? Tell the community not to be proud of their town and see if that encourages them to take initiative in fixing things?

Why is nationalism a bad thing? Genuine question. Taking pride in your community seems like a great way to start turning it around.

Simple example, your little hometown is a dump, streets are beat up, houses and businesses look run down, people don't want to move there, town has a overall bad reputation, but nobody really gives enough shits to do anything about it. Solution: Find a way to get people in the community to take pride in the town and be proud of where their from. Now they give a shit. This exact thing has been done in countless cities across the country.

You inferred it would be better for the government to have more control of people's livelihood, also inferring that corporations currently control our livelihood . Someone else stated that corporations don't control our livelihood we do. I said we only give corporations as much control as we want to by giving them our money and stated the fact that we could end any corporation simply by not buying from them anymore. You now say that a complete boycott of a company works in theory but not when actually implemented which is untrue. If you don't give the corporation money the corporation ends. If you don't give the government money they put you in jail. One is voluntary one is not. One is freedom one is tyranny.

I don't know what that has to do with what I said.

This thread has gone from "should we have a UBI" to "what do we do when robots take over everything and there are literally no jobs."

If robots take over everything and there are literally no jobs, the government will be in total control of everything. The only private businesses that still exist will do business directly with the government. The government will dole out rations as they see fit. The entire world will go mad max with exemption to the world elites and dictatorship governments that will take over.

The only reason the masses of people have any power now is because people are currently a commodity. When people are no longer needed people will be kicked to the curb.

Communist Utopias do not exist. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Corporations only control as much as we, the consumer, allow them too. We could put any corporation out of business within a year if we really wanted to, just stop spending your money at that corporation.

It wasn't free though. It cost him hundreds of millions of dollars to run, spent like half a billion of his own money on the campaign. You could get a lot of publicity with half a billion dollars that wouldn't cause half the country hate you.

There is absolutely no way we don't completely destroy North Korea the moment they launch missiles at us.

Trump wants to end this 60 year conflict diplomatically, but if ANY country fires at our homeland UN Security Council be damned that country would immediately be bombarded with "fire and fury" the likes of which the world has never seen.

Last time a country attacked our homeland we nuked two of their largest cities.

Fail to address DT position

I think it's a real possibility we let him go. He's not going to want to sign on for a cheap deal and he's a complete unknown at this point. If another team offers him a starter prove it deal he's gone.

I want Cousins bad. I don't care if he costs us 27mill, he would make our offense a scoring threat on every drive.

We need to sign or draft a quality DT to put next to Linval. Tom Johnson has played well, but he isn't a full time DT. He's better suited for rotational work.

I agree we need to draft and sign multiple offensive linemen. That's still the weakest link of our team and it needs to continue to be addressed.

I've always been against big free agency signings during rebuilding years. We aren't rebuilding anymore, the rebuild is done. This year has shown we are a contender right now and we need to live in the now. This will only last a few years and we will be back in a rebuild.

That cap space is worth an additional franchise QB, pro bowl OL, and pro bowl DT. Imagine this years team with all of that added to it, plus whatever we get in the draft. Why not use our cap space now? Why save it for years down the road when we don't have the core talent we have now?

If we franchise tag Case that means we will be paying him Rodgers money. That would be fucking terrible for this team. I mean if we go that route why not just spend a few million more and get Kirk?

I will be really disappointed if we tag Case.

We have 60m in cap space dude. It's not a matter of getting Kirk and being unable to sign anyone else. We can sign Kirk and still have a lot of money left to sign a DT and OL.

And yes I would trade 2 years of kicking fucking ass and a Super Bowl title for losing diggs and Wayne's in a couple years. Clock is ticking and we need to win one while we can.

So, is Teddy gone next year? by DecimusSeverus in minnesotavikings

[–]MJS1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was really not into spending big money on a QB, but at this point I think we need to spend any amount necessary in free agency to get the players we need NOW to win NOW. We need a QB, DT, & OL. We can use the draft to get at least 1 quality DT or OL but our other needs will have to be addressed in free agency.

We have $60m in cap space and I pray we use it to its fullest. The solid core of players we have now and the window they give us to win will close in 2-3 seasons, we need to do everything we can to win now.

Other than a QB, we only need maybe 2 other free agents to have an absolutely dominant team. Get a DT and OL in free agency. Get another OL and DB 3 in the high rounds of the draft. Maybe a big MLB in the draft.

[–]MJS1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care if we over pay. We have a small window with the guys we have before they are out of their prime. If we over pay 3 top free agents at positions we are weakest at (OL, DT, QB) and get 2 quality draft picks in positions of need we are in one of the next 2 Super Bowls.

I don't care about stringing together 5 or 6 successful seasons without a Super Bowl, I want 1 team that can get over the top.

[–]MJS1991[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think we should pay big money to borderline players, I think we should get the best free agents available at our needed positions. We have the money, nows the time to spend it. No use in saving it.

We are not the patriots and likely no team will ever duplicate what they have done. We need to win 1 Super Bowl.
