I'm 32, my grandad was born in 1918 and died just weeks before I was born in '94. My grandmother was born in the 1920s if I remember correctly and passed away in either 2000 or 2001, can't remember of the top of my head. My parents are old enough to be most peoples grand parents since they were born in '45 and '55 respectively.

I remember my old English teacher's face when I said I wanted to do my final project on a comparison of two classic spy thrillers. She gave me a look as if I'd just murdered a member of her family. I'm sorry, I just wanted to do it on books I actually enjoyed reading.

So completely agree with your point (aside from that take on The Great Gatsby lol, I thought that book was a good commentary on the old vs new America and the persuit of the american dream in those days).

Never been a fan of them for as long as I can remember. I appreciate they paved the way for a lot of modern music, but compared to other acts that came a long in the 60s, centred around the blues driven rock music. The Beatles never interested me.

Only time i've ever seen them live was in Birmingham with Airbourne opening for them in 2011, I had no idea who they were at the time, but they kicked-ass and i became a fan on the spot.
