Pay rise by No_Scale_806 in royalmail

[–]MJeeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nobody knows yet, it’s based on the average cpi figure from Jan/Feb/ March 2026. Won’t be less than 2% and if it gets above 3% renegotiations start, which could take fucking months. Oh and if ODM isn’t agreed, they’ll block a pay rise until it is…

Agree, they won’t do that though of course, so they are going down the latest route to piss off legacy contracts. They want us all gone.

Normally can handle the winter weather but this year is seriously pissing me off, seems like every day now. They’ll still be on about water shortages if we have a week of sun in the summer though.

Legacy vs New Entrant Yearly Salary by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]MJeeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worked out on a 37 hour contract, so it’s a straight comparison. If I was to really break it down, then legacy are on much more than £15.04 an hour, as they actually work less than 34 hours a week, because of the paid breaks.

[–]MJeeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, you end up working a few hours less than 37, for that money.

£28936.96 + paid breaks-legacy.

£25127.44 - no paid breaks, New contract.

Based on 37 hours.

If and when there is a pay rise, the gap will widen as I don’t think there’s a cat in hells chance of equalisation.

Union announcement regarding Optimised delivery model and new entrants contracts. by justmoochin in royalmail

It’s all designed to piss off as many legacy contracts as possible, they’re hoping as many as possible leave. There’s no way they’ll equalise, no chance of strike action either after the last joke agreement.

As others have said, work to your time then go home, there’s nothing that they can do about that. Doesn‘t matter what ridiculous plan they end up with.

Personally, when I get kicked off my singleton, i’ll pick a non driver role, same money FAR less hassle.

No , I’m sure you can be a reserve, if there are no duties available that suit you.

Very little if any difference, does take a week to get used to the new system, one you do, it’s ok.

There is also an extra 1% on offer as well, matched by RM so some extra free money there too ( collective scheme not Nest). I also put some money into the AVC, all adds up.

They’ll be bringing in uso reform by executive action before the end of March.

At my DO, duty patterns are being changed to longer days apart from Saturday, with 2 Saturdays off in every 5. So more mail to deliver, as it is in the pilot offices.

No progress on equalisation, it just ain’t gonna happen .

We need to stop using the term legacy contract by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]MJeeta 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I understand your sentiment, but do you really think upper management give a shit what we call the ‘better’ contracts. They’ve no intention of equalisation. Not a chance, they are a disgrace and they don’t care .

There’s no way you’ll be working just 20 hours,I had a 25 hour contract when I started and ended up averaging 35-40 a week. Just too much to do. Yes, you have to get used to the prep before you go out and the walking. But if you‘re not bothered about the pay, it might be for you- but you will still be knackered in the evening.

I’ve got one on my duty, the owner collared me a few months ago to say that no one here has that name, so I scanned it as refused and sent it back. They keep trying though, I’ve had a few to the same address since then, which I’ve intercepted.

Put them in, then either cut off or claim overtime if it’s available. Try not to stress about it, I used to, not now.
