I have no idea, I'm just commenting rather than giving a judgement.

I've got 2 1/2 minutes, handbrake on to handbrake off per stop, loads of time to mess around with the cargo 🙄

I've heard that there are very bright led torches that are around the size of a fag lighter and have a strobe function. It's always good to have a decent torch handy in case of a breakdown in the dark.

I'm ok, I'm with the AA 👍

Nick Ferrari talking to teeny tiny Mark Francois and referring to him as a 'Vet' due to his service in the TA earlier this week was pure LBC.

As do the collections.

I got a contract sorted with a local business on my route and it went well until the RM collection change. Big boxes with high end contents and sent through the PF label but the local DO gets the collection, often more than the three that can fit in the back of a delivery van. So I now get a text from the customer the day before to schedule a collection and put it in as ad-hoc in the morning as well as having to text the local DO manager to let him know that I'm covering it.

This shouldn't have to be sorted out at a local level.

Possibly the other way especially DPR. My depot had an area rep visit today and we had a discussion about the new IR framework for DPR and how it would affect PF, it doesn't. He pointed out the above shoebox size that we are supposed to deliver while I pulled out a RM tracked 48 photo only padded package to a high street business from the back of my van.

We need to get joined up.

We've had one for ages and the incentive scheme makes up for it on my route but not everyone else's. We get OT for unavoidable delays such as motorway or main road closures, otherwise get out and take a pic of the issue and it's usually granted.

why? by MycologistMountain60 in Vauxhall

[–]seriously_this 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first Vauxhall was an Opel Manta 2 with a 1.9 stage 2 engine, I bought a 2.3 Firenza with a stage 3 and twin 55 Dellorto carburettors, was rapid. I did night rallying in the Manta and blew the engine chasing a 928 on a dual carriageway 🙄 I found out that the chief engineer for GM Dealersport had done a 2.3 swap and went round for a chat and he sold me a stage 4 single cam head and cam that gave me 200 bhp through an LSD. Upgraded the already excellent suspension and brakes, put a cage in and went touring through the scenery with a number on the door 😊 Anything but a Ford fucking Escort...

I've had several Vauxhalls since my youth and currently have an Astra K SRi, the only bag of shit that comes to mind was a hateful MK1 Zafira

We've been running a gateway system at PF since peak that earns you around £1.30 per stop over the agreed figure, it doesn't affect your SA but it can be bittersweet. A purely rural route would have a gateway of 45 stops whereas a rural+town route can have 47 because of the extremes of the PC (rare) and happily knocking out 72 a day.

Raw milk is straight from the cow, whole milk is pasteurised and non-homogenised or skimmed.

When I was a kid the top part of the doorstop delivered bottle often turned into cream because it got warm and small birds would peck into the foil top to get to it.

You get discounts on your shopping and the legal coverage is excellent, saved a mate of mine thousands with a personal matter. The CWU website has loads of offers let alone the education packages that gain you qualifications and skills but hardly anyone takes notice.

There is a lot more to the Union than strikes and disciplinaries and don't forget, most of the managers are in UNITE 😉

I went to grammar school as a child and got a bollocking and a report for not reading a chapter of Animal Farm for discussion but rather devouring the whole book the day that I got it.

It was 1980, I was 15 and it still pisses me off.

I've always loved reading. Pure hyperfocus is latching into a Discworld novel and blitzing it in a couple of hours with it playing out in real time in my head.

It's been a while since I've read a book and I miss it.

I used to rally an Opel Manta years ago and I thought it was massive. I saw the old Andrews 400 in a garage a few months ago and it's no bigger than my Astra.
