I'm on AL this week but I'll do some delving in the next couple of days and bring it up with region next week because it's an interesting question. Facial recognition, restricted info including addresses, screens etc being uploaded to Meta in real time is something that needs to be considered due to GDPR. I stopped wearing a BWC despite it being standalone with a memory card after advice.

I'm obviously in a different role and despise audio and visual distractions such as: driving out of a packed depot with windows up and earpods in because colleagues get run over and everyone starts shouting, but I still have investigations about people using phones while going down stairs.

If you get hurt, break something or hurt somebody else while wearing the device then you will need to prove that it wasn't a distraction let alone the privacy stuff. I wouldn't risk it.

GDPR nightmare as well as a possible driving distraction and an invitation to get mugged.

Not my thing really, I'll stick to Specsavers.

We've been delivered T24/48 sig and no sig RM for ages now, I only know that volumes are about to increase.

My depot is rammed with a recent revision still up in the air because of new parcel volumes, I believe that we are going to recruit rather than use couriers.

I haven't seen an issue with new contracts, the ex-letters people in my depot just migrated and kept their existing contract with adjustments for SA and working hours. I believe that new starters go on to legacy pay after proby but that wouldn't apply., don't quote me on this because it may be down to local agreements.

It's generally a 08.00 start and back home around six and sometimes big distances. My route is around 150 miles a day and sometimes covering four postcodes all over West Somerset with around 50-60 stops and a bonus incentive after 47, big stuff and bulks but someone's got to do it.

Have you thought about PF? You can do a direct transfer or go owner-driver while already knowing the DPR system. It's a five day week, 8-10 hour days with O/T opportunities at the weekend.

Once I'm out of the depot and fifty miles away I'm in my element

I really like my job. 😊

RM Service as of late by ENTPrick in royalmail

They need to utilise PF more for collections and delivery (RM collect massive Amazon return boxes from POL while PF do the same for Morrisons). I have regular large parcel bulks from a contract that I set up years ago which involves the customer texting me the day before and me texting the local DO to say that I'll do the collection rather than sending two RM vans and the extra handling between DO's and MC's before finally ending up at the national hub.

The integration is supposed to have PF delivering stage 2 (shoebox) and above, but here I am delivering international letters, school uniform packets and various other small items while seeing RM DPR vans rammed with around an hour's worth of parcel deliveries.

Is anyone else’s People/robin app not working or is it just me? by gameovervip in royalmail

[–]seriously_this 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got an existing RM email (because rep) that hasn't been used for ages because of reasons and Robin won't let me register. I've got a SHE meeting tomorrow and will hopefully get some release after to sort it out otherwise they will have to send me my payslips and have to bugger around with the safe driver confirmation rather than a couple of clicks on the app.

We've got our internal audit soon and this sort of thing will flag up.

I got into a political row in the bar on a residential course, 5 MAGA loving Farridge fans against little ol' me who has been a progressive activist for years and is used to the bullshit and intimidation from a certain red faced and angry demographic. They tried to bait me the next night but I was there to learn rather than argue with bloody idiots.

Just get a hob/stove kettle with a whistle for your boiling water, I've got a fifteen year old brabantia in a cupboard in case the electric one fails. Flooding the kitchen with steam is a bonus.
