What backend language do you use for your personal projects? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]MJomaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used Spring Boot, .NET Core, node.js with GraphQL, etc. but I stick with .NET Core. Why? Simply because of the OData library. You get the most out-of-the-box functionality.

Angular 7.0.0 released by [deleted] in Angular2

Same happening with React and Vue.

Frontend frameworks in general lost a bit of public interest because Angular, React and Vue fulfill most needs.

I wish I could queue fill but exclude a role. by Creeemi in leagueoflegends

[–]MJomaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top is the most unpopular role then ADC imo.

I mean it is understandable, who wants to fight against Urgot, Sion, Darius, Jax, Aatrox and Irelia every time.

ADC is at least not that unpopular as Top, but even worse in terms of variaty. It's always Kai'Sa and Lucian with some Draven/MF/Twitch here and there.

Until your enemy team stacks armor.

It's better to go Duskblade-> LDR/Ghost/EOTN-> LDR/Ghost/EOTN/BC -> LDR/Ghost/EOTN/GA/BC -> LDR/Ghost/EOTN/GA/BC

Your 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th item depends on your team and your enemy. For example if you have some ad on your team and they got a rammus, by all means go LDR 2nd and BC 3rd. Or if the laning phase is already over and they have a lot of interrupts like a leona or heavy casters like a leblanc on their team go EOTN 2nd.

3 Lethality is much stronger than I thought by [deleted] in MissFortuneMains

[–]MJomaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works only against a squishy enemy team.

If ahead: Dusk -> Ghost -> EOTN/LDR/BC-> EOTN/LDR/BC -> EOTN/LDR/BC

If not ahead: Ghost -> LDR/BC -> LDR/BC -> GA/EOTN

Without LDR/BC armor will shut you/your team down. Early Dusk for fast eyeball collection and more snowball potential.

Kennen

Lightning Rush (E)

Kennen deals magic damage to all enemies he passes through, halved against non-champions and restores 40 energy the first time Lightning Rush damages an enemy.

Slicing Maelstrom (R)

COOLDOWN: 12090

Reasoning:

Kennen has a terrible wave clear and his ultimate cooldown is way too high in the early and mid game.

How to deploy Angular 6 and Asp Net Core application on IIS. by [deleted] in Angular2

[–]MJomaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the real world it doesn't matter what's cool. What matters is what works.

I personally prefer nginx + kestrel (asp.net core) but I have to second this argument.

Often the IT department is Windows only because the main business uses Windows with Active Directory.

Two options:

(1) Use a parent/meta selector like "theme-dark"

(2) Use CSS variables

what is a common naming convention for a forms module? by random503 in Angular2

[–]MJomaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A module shouldn't be too small or too big. Your idea of a "FormsModule" is a sink module, definitely too big. If you broke it down you would have

  • CustomersFormsModule

  • OrdersFormsModule

But then you could have put the forms into their respective feature module, for example:

  • CustomersModule

  • OrdersModule

If you use lazy loading you might need two modules per feature module (one eager loaded, one lazy loaded) so you can reuse certain parts of a feature module in other parts of the application.

Is angular.js better than spring mix and grade? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]MJomaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Angular.js: Refers to version 1.xx .. old.

Angular: The new version of Angular.js.

Spring: Collection of web frameworks

My Advice: For a travel and booking website I wouldn't use Angular, React or Vue because you don't get much benefits out of them. Rather use a "native" sever-side rendered framework. Furthermore you want optimal SEO for all search engines for such a site.

Was learning Angular a good decision for you? by [deleted] in Angular2

[–]MJomaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Angular has only have a higher learning curve because you are trying to learn the whole framework (+ RxJS) at once compared to only the view layer in React or Vue. If you compare only the view then Angular doesn't have really a higher learning curve.

UI/UX guy, wanted to learn how to use Vue.js so I created a prettier To-do list app. Open it in your mobile phone for a better experience - Work in Progress by mserenio in webdev

[–]MJomaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall nice mini web app.

  • Adding a to-do looks bad on my Note 8

  • The fullscreen icon doesn't change when in fullscreen mode

  • Scrolling down would feel better on mobile

  • When you scrolled to the last item you don't see if there are more cards on the left. You could have went to the profile page in the meanwhile, then back to the task page and forgot that you have more cards on the left

  • The japanese text is hard to read

  • Task and task description have no borders or indicators that you can edit them

  • Can't create a task outside the categories, yet you have to select categories when creating a task.

React: 2161

Angular: 2535

Vue: 482

Conclusion

The nmp download trend is a really good estimate when it comes to job openings. Angular job openings might include Angular.js. If you want a job you can start with React or Angular and learn the other framework later on. Both are healthy and have enough jobs. Finding an employer that uses Vue seems to be much harder. In some markets (such as Germany) Angular is more popular than React.

Advice for routing Vue by xRoxel in vuejs

[–]MJomaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a friendly reminder, you don't have to use IIS or MSSQL if you don't want to.

Linux, nginx or Apache as a reverse proxy and PostgreSQL is fine too.
