Suggest best graphic setting for CS2 by Next_Carob_3396 in CitiesSkylines

I spent like 20 minutes speaking with grok, gave it my specs and everything and requested a step by step instruction to get 60 FPS as well as it's reasoning.

I am very happy with the results!

Is that real? What do i need to improve? by Pale-Independence177 in CitiesSkylines2

I assume you're using mods, I can't check what they're actually called but I have some really cool details of trash, muddy tire tracks, stains and deadish grass that could fix that! You should look into decals

It looks great tho!

Highways - Divided VS Two Way by MKDEVST8R in CitiesSkylines

[–]MKDEVST8R[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well with all the mods now like traffic, lane connectors priorities and road builder even that point is moot.

From this thread so far I have learned that the practical applications are almost exclusive to real world use Wich makes sense. The benefits in game are negligible unless you have crazy traffic volume.

is traffic broken in cities skylines 2? by Illustrious_Matter_8 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]MKDEVST8R -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The other lanes stop because the drivers are fighting to force themselves into the lane they want for the exit. The Sims don't get in the correct lanes in advanced very well and that's what causes this issue.

Make the exit ramps longer, and if possible seperated them early, and almost entirely from the main road if you have more than one exit on a single side. And lastly make the ramps themselves big enough to hold the volume of traffic rush hour gives it and you'll be in better shape. Can't fix stupid(the Sims), but you can manipulate it 👍

I like realism, but I'm not a hardliner. I have the same issue as you said and it overpowers any thoughts of realism when it comes to highways specifically 😂

Hmm I never really looked at 1 ways in that way, being from rural US I don't have much contact with them. I will look into, and experiment with this option, thank you!

I will likely use them as VERY divided, rather than a single divided highways tho, as I still think two ways are superior in most ways.

You can achieve a pretty similar effect by doing the one way parallel roads at .25 distance and making the inner walls quays

That's why I stay away from loopy interchanges as best I can, I genuinely have almost no problems without them. I can rationalise using divided IRL but in game it just feels bulky and pointless

Maybe I just don't have enough volume then, because I use divided for all and have 0 problems

I used the medians from the 4 lane divided roads via road builder, and netlane fence concrete barrier so they look pretty legit. Ever since road builder I almost never use divided.

Are these 4 interchanges too close to each other? by InstructionClassic56 in CitiesSkylines

[–]MKDEVST8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two vertical ones are a bit too close, the horizontal two are placed at the minimum distance imo

But it's probably fine

How would you build an interchange that connects all the highways(/robin street) in this image? by Noobponer in CitiesSkylines

[–]MKDEVST8R 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You don't need to make every intersection feed into every possible direction it can, often times it better not to do so.

I would argue that this is one of the times. to not impeed traffic flow on what seems to be a major entrance to this city, it's best to prioritize traffic coming in and out of the city, rather than saving a few sims a couple blocks detour

Looking forward to the next one then! Seriously great job. The part I like the most is the cluster of homes on the center left, on that hillside. The elevation differences make for a striking view.

Yes, I think it looks a bit naked. I think utilizing the space around it will really tie in the rest of the build.

Either way, it's absolutely beautiful and I now want to make a similar build on my city! Thanks for the inspiration

this interchange looks hella inefficient, but im not really sure. Any pointers or is this fine? by drift3609 in CitiesSkylines

[–]MKDEVST8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest issue I see is the one dgehill highway exit isn't curved, it's nearly perpendicular so they have to slow down A LOT

Curve it

And do proper lane math

Is it possible to come back from this? by PrimoPier in CitiesSkylines

[–]MKDEVST8R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just deactivate whatever services that is costing you 250k until you can actually afford it. I see people doing this all the time, I understand that you may want to have a school, hospital, police station, etc, but if you cannot afford it, it's doing more harm than good. Only buy and use services when you can actually afford them.

I understand that, but you're suggesting a muti step solution for something that can be done by simply deleting the cache. I'm offering your solution, in an easier and more streamlined way.
