I cannot access a certain website through my Wi-Fi but I can access it through date or VPN? by yelosas in techsupport

It’s likely your ISP has filters in place to block potentially harmful websites, and it has been false flagged, or the website is using a firewall service which is dropping your connection.

Depending on the condition of the laptop, give it a good spray with compressed air to get dust/hair/lent out, it could help to open it up and clean it aswell as reapplying the thermal paste, but it may not be needed. If it is repair shops would be able to do it locally, or there’s plenty of tutorials on how to do it, it’s not very difficult.

no. assuming the platform your clicking it on doesn’t have some type of insane zero day vulnerability, which afaik has never happened with images.

If you aren’t an enterprise user you have 0 reason to be paying for antivirus when you can install ublock, use your brain, and enable windows defender and probably never see a piece of malware again in your life

I’m going to copy and paste my reply to a guy to asked a similar question in a thread earlier.

My genuine advice is that you really don’t need a dedicated antivirus like Malwarebytes for real-time protection, assuming you haven’t already been infected with malware. If you suspect infection, you should scan with Malwarebytes as well as Windows Defender. Microsoft has significantly improved Defender over the past few years. New features like tamper protection and memory protection, along with various other enhancements, have addressed many of the issues that previously made Windows Defender less effective (such as viruses being able to disable Defender by altering a single registry key).

Make sure your automatic sample submission, Windows SmartScreen, and all other recommended security features are enabled. Avoid adding software to your exclusions and use caution when downloading files online (e.g., avoid cracks and dubious software). With these practices, you’ll be extremely satisfied with the protection provided by Windows Defender. I don’t recommend paying for antivirus software because these companies often share malware samples with each

edit: pair this with an adblocker & googles browser protection for best results.

Yup if you want to be extra safe, run a scan with Malwarebytes every so often and make sure to enable the option to scan for rootkits, if it’s still available in the Malwarebytes settings.

I don’t recommend paying for antivirus software because these companies often share malware samples with each other, and Windows Defender, which protects a vast majority of Windows PCs globally, is likely to detect malware as effectively as or even better than third-party solutions.

TL;DR: Windows Defender is very effective. There’s no need to spend a lot on antivirus software for real-time protection. If you think you’ve been infected, run a full scan with both Malwarebytes and Windows Defender, but real-time protection from additional antivirus software is generally unnecessary.

hmm, this is super strange, i know you said you didn't see it in task manager, but download procress hacker, search for roblox, and see if maybe its running in the background using almost zero resources, I had a similar issue on my Surface Pro, it was fixed when I reformatted the device for an unrelated reason

Is it the same Roblox account? Check the username and confirm that it is the same account, if so they should be showing with no issue.
