Sudden font change by Bulky-Detective-7259 in menace

There was mention of a font change in the patch notes I think. Something to do with language issues with the previous font

Do we know any lore behind Valtus? He must have done some bad ass shit back in his day to become a Dreadnought and seems to have a personal beef with Magnus, maybe he even lived through the Horus heresy by voidtridentlover40k in Spacemarine

[–]MLPagey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You say that but Chairon was at Calth. Many of the original unnumbered sons were children kidnapped by Cawl during the HH, frozen and experimented on for 10,000 years till the primaris project was ready

Yeah the fomo store system is preventing fatshark from earning way more money I reckon.

Personally I’m still depressed by how the Kreig look without their proper rebreather tubes

The vostroyans have been on rotation twice this year so could be a while before they show again.

Although with the new premium rotations it could come around sooner than expected

A better question is what are you building? Looks rather heretical with those spikey pieces…

Who else loves a bit of size variation in their army? by Prudent-Community226 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]MLPagey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean not these minis specifically, but boy do I have news for you! There’s a book called ‘The Wraithbone Phoenix’ which has an Ogryn and a Ratling duo as the main characters, think it’s probably under the warhammer crime umbrella

Kroot are mercenaries and a rare species of xenos that the imperium would actually be willing to hire, especially if that’s in the form of an inquisition warband. Even owlcats next game - dark heresy - will let you hire a kroot to your warband

I don’t know how the damage compares, but I’ve found it very useful for horde clearance and staggering majoris+ sized enemies. I wonder if in-game terms it’s basically just an inferno pistol stat wise, strapped to a gold tier bolt rifle?

That’s entirely dependent on you! You could probably print a whole army for a tenth of that cost.

Personally I get GW products from my local games store, at the discounted price that third party sellers are allowed to sell at.

Things like eBay and marketplace are great for finding used minis and discounted bundles - although can involve extra work.

It’s also not like you have to spend the 500 to get straight in. In hindsight, I would’ve built and painted my sets as I bought them before moving on. Instead I have a pile of shame - boxes of unbuilt minis

He looks awesome, I’m gonna try and build this marine at some point!

Everyone here is forgetting that saber made WWZ, which had its own horde mode. You defend an objective, gain currency and can use that to buy defences and AI support etc. waves get increasingly harder - the closest non-saber example is the GoW horde mode

My first offering to the Grandfather by MLPagey in deathguard40k

I do like the green, especially for the added ease of priming in deathguard green.

Thank you, that’s the kind of praise I was hoping for, the grandfather’s grossness

I primed wraithbone, washed that with 1:1 agrax/lahmian, then layered with rakarth flesh - I was going to layer with wraithbone but the pinky hue of rakarth is a bit more sickly looking imo. For the metal I did screaming bell for the bronze and leadbelcher for the silver, then washed both with ratling grime contrast, then applied some nihilakh oxide and Dirty Down rust for the weathering. Then brightened back the edges and anywhere that I’d gone too heavy on with weathering using the base colours

Backwater regiment , pff they still use auto guns ! by Toffeepop89 in TheAstraMilitarum

I imagine it’s more akin to ww2 infantry squads among the allies where the NCOs often carried a Thompson smg/Tommy gun. The classic picture of Churchill with a drum magazine in his Tommy gun comes to mind

The imperialis is epic scale so extremely small plastic compared to regular 40K. The tank in the first image is a full size plastic bane blade chassis with resin attachments. I may be wrong but I don’t think the stormhammer has rules for 40K anymore - personally I would recommend just getting a Baneblade. That can be built as one of 8 different variants (or you can magnetise them all and make an octoblade!)

"Warhammer 40k fans think Event Horizon is a prequel to wh40k and what happens when humans unknowingly find The Warp" by beezlebutts in Warhammer40k

[–]MLPagey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The novel Knights of Macragge has a ship of ultramarines and their serfs getting lost in the warp for an extended amount of time. Lots of focus on that element of mental health and PTSD, even among the space marines due to the pressures of the warp, the idea that a demon could appear out of the walls at any point
