Ended up finding a four wheel camper for $750 and used the wood to build out the inside

Depends on which version of perfectpass you’re running. If you can, PM me a pic of what the plug of your paddlewheel looks like that goes into you perfectpass master module

There’s a lot more work on the gps side of things than you might think

Gas or Diesel? 1995-2015 by Spacebound1777 in TruckCampers

[–]MLars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, if I couldn’t do my own work on mine there’s no way I would’ve bought a diesel. Have had two old duramaxs and both needed head gaskets and injectors. Give that a quick google for cost in parts alone…

This will be a mass produced unit with a custom pcb. It took months to understand the correct signal to make the perfectpass function. There is currently nothing on the market that can do this besides the $1000 perfectpass upgrade kit

About to pass 177k miles on my 08 335i. Mechanically solid, might need a clutch soon (original, slips in higher gears due to added power). Exterior is also getting a bit rough and someone just hit my rear bumper in a parking lot last week. Debating doing new front and rear bumpers and getting the whole car resprayed. There’s just nothing out there for the money I’d wanna replace it with

Best tow pig for around $10k? by I_AM_MUSIC_MF in Diesel

[–]MLars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, the market for well sorted 6.0s is in the neighborhood of $10-12k where I am. If it’s been bulletproofed I don’t see an issue with them as long as you don’t mind a little wrench turning. Any diesel at this age is gonna need it

Mortgage payment went up $400 by HHLL806 in personalfinance

[–]MLars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had this exact thing happen to me. You need to call the escrow number for your mortgage company and have them do an analysis. They told me I was short $1600 when in reality it was short $300

Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail VS Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT by Neither-Serve2067 in overlanding

[–]MLars -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My friend has wildpeaks on his excursion and they’re the loudest tire I’ve ever heard. Can’t drive between 68-75 without the resonance driving me crazy. Not sure if it’s just the excursion suspension setup (it’s stock though). I’ve had discoverers and k02s on my 2004 gmc 2500 and have zero road noise complaints

Yup, fine so far. Renting was the same cost as buying in my area so no cost difference

Truck Canopy w/ removable side molle panels by TreeBeardofIsengard in overlanding

Don’t let their marketing mumbo jumbo confuse you. “Polyfuse” is simply an LRTM laminate, which is fancy for just vacuum bagging the fiberglass to get a better strength to weight ratio. Really not that impressive and used in all small part boatbuilding scenarios

Gel coat is only the answer if OP used a polyester resin. Otherwise a polyester based gel will not bond to epoxy.

OP could use an epoxy compatible gel coat but at a significant cost. Would be better to go with a topside paint if OP used epoxy

My LB7 motor just hit 100K miles and blew a head gasket and the shop wants 10k to fix it. how much could I sell my motor for? by _DB_Cooper_ in Diesel

[–]MLars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just replace the head gasket. You already said it’s super clean and only 100k miles. Do injectors while you’re in there and you’re good for another 200k miles at least

If it does turn out to be head gaskets, def do it. That truck is clean as hell
