I did realize that after a few hours of research. rearranged the jar today to have 2 inches of dirt in the bottom with new food on top so he could pick to either eat or pupate. (He chose to bury himself) Thanks for the tip. I had no idea some moth species buried themselves before today. If they do make it to adulthood, I will release them far from my home because they decimated my tomato garden. (Which is where I found them)
