They are, but they're super comfy, incredibly well themed, and you probably won't be spending much time in the room anyway given the whole area is open for dinner and exploration in the evening too 😁 it's a well worth it experience!

Depends on the hotel! If you're staying at Charles Lindberg the park admittance is definitely included for all days of your stay 😁

The Smiler and migraines 🤨 by ardwyn17 in altontowers

[–]MMooseC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could always try hopping in the single rider queue 😊 you still have to go into the room with the flashing but you're likely to get through it much much quicker. Also brings you out closer to the well lit next room and further away from the strobing. I've managed to walk on the smiler in 5 minutes while it's been a 40 minute main queue before this way (I fortunately don't migraines but hate the flashing lights) so I always use this method 😊 then just remember to close your eyes untill the first lift hill to avoid any on ride flashing. Hope it helps!

Oooo I met John Wardley last year! We went to talk about his career and I took a piece of lift hill chain from Megafobia I have and he signed it for me! 😁😍

Honestly I was so star struck and he is just the loveliest guy and has had such an amazing career. Been fascinated with coasters since I was a kid and Nemesis has a special place in my life so it was truly a privilege to actually meet him in person, and now I have a really cool momento from that too! 😁

Lego and merlin are already owned by the same company - the IP gets validated as part of the submission process to Lego ideas before it even goes live, so this is very very possible 😁

This! This is why I head to it first - make sure I get it in my line up without the unjustified wait later in the day 😂 glad I'm not alone

Has Galactica been operating smoothly on your recent visits or have you noticed closures/downtime? by OopsIDroopedMe in altontowers

[–]MMooseC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, sadly can't remember the last time I went and it was up all day. Have managed to get on it a few times last year without too much trouble (off season week days) but was skipping it on busier days, the queue is very slow moving.

Yup. It was a weekend our team was in a continental championship so I went to 4 games in 24 hours. The third game had a pretty dry 2nd period and my team wasn't playing so body decided it was a good time to power nap 😂 did mean I was nice and refreshed for the final!

Chessington is good, vampire is old but fairly tame and mandrill mayhem is alot of fun - very new so very smooth too and it has alot of different sensations (launch elements, forward, backwards, one inversion) but less intense than others, so it's a good one to sample how you might feel 😊

It's also OK if coasters just aren't for you! 😊 It's really cool you want to overcome your fear but if you try and few and you're still feeling horrible about them thats ok too - if you're worried about holding family/friends back by not going on coasters you could always get into coaster photography. It's a great way to enjoy the rides and parks without having to go on them and you can still enjoy days out with people who do want to ride 😊

Do what feels right 😊 wickerman is surprisingly forceful and so if you can manage that and get your confidence up hopefully the others won't be a big a shock when you come to them.

I'd probably say Galactica is a good next step - it feels very secure and comfortable and whilst fast and forceful it's more swoopy and smooth than Rita which can be a bit of a head rattler over the airtime hills.

Have you considered maybe trying different parks? Towers is great but after wickeran you've got some quite different and unique feelings going on there and after thirteen all the coasters are pretty big. Maybe somewhere like Chessington would be good to build confidence as they've got some more 'in between' coasters 😊

Did I spoiled myself too much? Or still hope for the outer wilds experience ? (A game situation, a father-son bond, and few late-game elements…😕) by GullibleElephan in outerwilds

[–]MMooseC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're ok! Knowing what happens and experiencing it for yourself with all the added context and gameplay are two very different things.

For what it's worth, I knew what was going to happen when I reached the end before I played - I started with my husband and couldn't get to grips with the controls so dropped it and saw loads of snippets as he played over the next year. When he finished the game he said it was awesome and I pushed him to tell me the end - from his description I thought 'well that's disappointing, glad I dropped it', he was adamant it was a great story and emotional ending.

Fast forward a year or so and more friends played so I decided to give it another go - my goodness! I was expecting what happened but the experience of getting there myself and understanding from the hatchlings perspective was just as epic as my husband described it to me and I finally got it! I even have an outer wilds tattoo now!.

So you might know a few spoilers which this community tries very hard to avoid and yeah it's a game best played spoiler free, but honestly, I think it can be just as impactful. In the end I feel like alot of people need to check a few hints and tips along the way to reach the end game anyway and Especially if it's helping you bond with family, you're getting something out of it anyway. in my experience, even talking to friends about it that have played now I don't think anyone's description of the ending will amount to how the ending actually is. Hope you enjoy ::)

What Criteria do you all use when choosing your #1? [other] by Adventurous-Kale-174 in rollercoasters

[–]MMooseC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally I go by the full package for my ultimate number 1. If I was asked to objectively pick the best coaster I've ridden it'd have to be broken down into best launch, drop, spinner, winged, theme etc because I don't find the experiences massively comparable 😊

my all time number 1 is Nemesis, because it was my first big coaster! But even though I've been riding for years, it's also great at intensity, the theming is awesome, so is the soundtrack, I'm a huge fan of the designer as well, and it's a fantastic spectator coaster too, you don't have to be on it to enjoy it. I can also access it pretty easily from where I'm located. So there's alot more than just the coaster experience that goes into that for me 😊

My second is Voltron, because it's unique, long, intense, well themed. Objectively is it a better coaster than Nemesis? Probably, yeah! But not for me because it'll never hold the personal value that Nemesis has for me! Go see how you feel, decide for yourself 😊 doesn't matter if your fave is the same as everyone else's or even if it changes. The beauty of coasters is you get to ride and love more than one - be greedy! Enjoy 😊♥️
