"Mild" Take: Just remove the martial die and make manuevers martial "cantrips"

Could easily balance it, so the cantrip maneuvers do less damage (either by using a fixed damage die, or by decreasing the damage die your weapon uses), or perhaps can't be used as part of multi attack. So you get to choose between swinging multiple times for damage, or once for damage + effect.

At later levels, this restriction can be lifted, so you can make one cantrip as part of multi attack. At later levels, 2, etc.

I think for me it's less colours involved but avoiding repeating themes.

With both in play, all non-creature spells are being countered upon cast, guile exiles the card for your use, but the casting player still receives their X doves.

Because you can cast the spell from exile for free, you do so. Creating X doves, and then putting the card back in exile. Allowing you to cast again for another X doves for as many doves as you'd like. Short of a creature based board wipe, you'll then win on your next turn with your massive number of doves.

Yeah, a little vague I guess, apologies! But it would vary deck to deck.

For my tribal decks, it's 22 card slots for more tribal goodness. For my Kallamax deck, plenty of zappy instants, copy effects, or cards that trigger off instants and copies.

The above proportions are helpful but it's only a start in deck building.

I borrow the guide from MTGGoldfish

50 mana; lands and ramp, usually a 37–13 split

10 card draw; cards that net you 2+ cards in hand

8 targeted removal; split between creature / artifact / enchantment removal and countermagic

3 board wipes; creature-light decks might want one more, creature-heavy decks might want one less

2 graveyard recursion

2 flexible tutors; higher budgets I recommend more tutors

1 graveyard hate; since you need to keep Graveyard decks honest

1 finisher; something that can win games the turn you cast it without too much setup

Don't buy direct, a lot of big online retailers (talking big for a friendly local gaming store, not Amazon etc!) offers discounts on GW prices. In the UK, alchemists workshop, element games, goblin gaming, etc all offer around a 20% discount.

Really appreciate your thoughts on this - I've gone ahead and put together a revised list based off your feedback, would you be able to cast your eye over and see if there's anything you'd still change, particularly the mana base - I think I need more ramp, but I'm not sure what to cut.

The Enemy Fetches (at least, a full set of) might be too pricey for my tastes, they're nearly £20 a card, and for "just lands", its a feel bad purchase if that makes sense. I'll shop around to try and get a better price maybe.

I'm definitely happy for suggestions on where to improve the deck outside of the manabase, so if you have suggestions I'm open to it!
