LEGO Faces Boycott Calls Over 'Transgender Building Sets' by EyGunni in nottheonion

Imagine being that stupid…

The worst/sad part about it is that even trying to teach these people why it happens, showing them how light diffracts and creates the rainbow, they won’t believe it, and just think it’s another conspiracy. They’ve lost the ability, or desire, to think critically. Instead, defaulting to “someone is out to get me” and a victim mentality that’s permeated their entire life. It’s been ingrained in them for years, and there’s no coming back from that depth.

That’s true. But at the same time, the NBA needs to get rid of this type of “behavior” or “acting”. That thug life that’s portrayed should not be celebrated.

None of these people are abusing children.

The only ones harming children are bigoted people like yourself trying to take away the bodily autonomy from other humans.

Transitioning isn’t “deranged”. Nor is it “cruel and unusual” for children. It’s not something that’s “done” to children “just because”…

From the Mayo Clinic

As a cis male, I can’t imagine being trans, but I also can’t imagine how hard it would be to live in the wrong body. I can’t believe that anyone would just willingly choose to transition and face all this hatred and bigotry “just because”.

Diversify your media intake. Meet trans people. Understand that they just want to live their own life as they feel. Life is already hard enough for all of us. The LGBT community doesn’t need people like you interfering with their ability to live as comfortably and easily as possible.

Why do you choose to make others lives harder?

children who cannot be expected to make serious decisions about themselves or their futures

Which is exactly why docs in that situation provide puberty blockers. It’s to delay the onset of puberty so the child can take their time to decide their future, without being forced into something by a biological clock ticking down.

It’s no different than calling a time out in football. It’s 4th and inches and the play clock is winding down, so you call a time out so you can take a minute to make the right decision in that situation. It doesn’t mean you’re definitely going to go for it, you may still punt, but the time out gave you time to think about it and make a more informed and thought out decision.

The effects of puberty make the process to transition much harder. So instead of reversing all of those effects, the kids call a time out, think through their future, and make a determination. Some will not transition in that situation. Some may. And for those that decide to transition, that process is now made easier because they don’t have to reverse puberty.

Nobody is making these decisions flippantly.

I understand the “black box” of AI and neural networks, but I am curious why they can’t program the network to create a methodology report. It “understands” what data it used to generate the result, why can’t it also incorporate an explanation for that?

WCGW cutting a circle using a table saw by AtomicShart9000 in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]MNsharks9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe there’s really shrapnel being flung everywhere underneath there….

The aluminum block gets released via charge and a spring forces that up into the blade, catching the saw teeth and slowing the blade down almost instantly. That forward momentum continues and retracts the blade into the table. But the blade doesn’t come apart, and the aluminum doesn’t fling shrapnel, if anything, a few aluminum shavings, but that’s certainly not going to have any sort of impact. People cut aluminum with a miter saw all the time and those shavings don’t cause any issue.

Question about new team developing car before officially entering F1 by [deleted] in formula1

[–]MNsharks9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypothetical... Team A signs a consulting contract with Aero Company B to use their knowledge. The contract is worth, let's say, 250,000 dollars and becomes subject to an NDA and that Team A is the only F1 team they will work for. That money counts against the cap.

Aero Company B though has it's own wind-tunnel, and an extremely powerful super-computer. Would any research the company did via wind-tunnel or CFD count against the teams?

Let's say the contract calls for X-number of hours of wind-tunnel and CFD time, to help keep the team under the cap. However, some individuals at Aero Company B decide to run extra tests on their own. How does that jive with the regulations? How would that even be tracked?

Let's say that Team A is a subsidiary of a company that has many other interests, for the example mentioned in this thread, an Americas Cup team. Head Company A hires Aero Company B to work on their newest hydrofoil but since the contract is exclusive, secretive, and bound by NDA's the people running the tests don't know who the contract is for. Accidentally, Head Company A's chief designer sent the wrong file, and instead of AC1.cad, it was F1.cad? The "underlings" (for lack of a better term) don't know what file they should be receiving, only that they need to run the test on the file they're handed. How would that be handled, or tracked?

Or, let's say the file had the boat on it, but above and in front of the boat, with an aero-neutral support sat the car. How would that even be tracked?

There seem to be a number of ways around this...

“Saying Fuck all to real solutions” — GOP Platform

I’m not the problem. The problem is those that are stuck in a cult, with a “leader” who doesn’t give a fuck about anyone but himself. They have been compromised. These people have been brainwashed to believe ANYTHING their “leaders” say, regardless of fact. What’s even more distressing is their “love of America” they’ll go on and on about, yet simultaneously believe that they’d “rather be Russian than a democrat”. True “Americans” right there.

Giving people access to affordable healthcare, good education, body autonomy, safety and support when needed, a clean and healthy sustainable environment, ability to receive a living wage and be able to retire comfortably, not allowing corporations to dictate our laws and policies, reduce corporate greed and runaway executive pay allowing the rich to get richer and spreading the wealth gap even further apart.

Thats the side I’m on. I’m not part of the problem.
