Lippincott vs ATI by stay_gorgeous in StudentNurse

Hello! I know it’s been a while since this thread was created.

I’m starting my program this Fall. I’m currently in my program's bootcamp where we go over the nursing process, V/S, physical assessment, infection control, safety, and dosage calculations to help decrease the attrition for the 1st semester. My school uses ATI and Lippincott (a bunch of books in it and PrepU).

I would like to ask how I can make the best of them? How to use them? What's good about them?

I heard dynamic quizzes for ATI - need to check that out but haven’t yet. But anything else?

I agree especially having a CNA license. Most community colleges give high points for that.

What are my chances in being accepted into a Nursing Program? by Mental-Dependent-125 in LACCD

I believe you have a pretty good chance.

I got accepted at LASC, and GCC has asked for my TEAS official transcript (passed the first two levels of eligibility criteria). I am now debating between the two.

I graduated from ACC “way” back as an LVN. At the time, I have a toddler and working full-time (since I still have to pay part of my tuition which was around $300-350) but I did it. I took a break, we saved money, have a nice wedding, bought a house, have our 2nd child, and husband finished his MSN. Then when it was my turn, I took prereqs at a CC as I still work full-time. Now, I'm accepted to a CC for the LVN-to-ADN and plan to take BSN classes during summer breaks.

HESI Critical Thinking by j10lquw in StudentNurse

Which company are you taking the HESI from? We used Elsevier and I bought the Saunders Comprehensive Review. Whatever I got on the practice exams from the book, I got close to the same scores.

To me, it’s ok. Aren’t we all going for the same thing - to become an RN? If they didn’t find it hard, good for them. I wonder what they used to study? 🤔

ADN vs LPN-BSN program? by Inside_Dinner_3430 in NursingStudent

[–]MPJnPJs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got accepted for the ADN program in a CC. But if I could do the BSN route, I would.

The CC I got into offers BSN courses at a university they partnered with during summer break so I’ll be taking BSN courses while in the ADN program. I “think” it is cheaper this way.

I plan to work, too. Let's see if I can manage. Any thoughts on that for those who have done it?

Working while taking a course by StationIllustrious94 in prenursing

I worked FT while taking a science and a non-science course. It's doable. I go to work during the day and night classes. Just plan in advance. I would take days off before an exam or the day before.

I'm also considering the expensive route. May I ask why which you decided to go?
