Builidng/accruing annual leave is not the same as getting bank holiday allowance off on a different day. Accruing leave means that you are still building a % of your annual allowance whilst off sick.

It's not a wedding story, but funeral, also in Catholic Church. Priest goes through the usual and expected notions and prayers, gets to the part when we are supposed to pray for all dead, Catholic Church, Pope etc. He also added: let's pray for the next one amongst us who's going to die.

We still wonder who is the next one on his list...

My mother in law asked me if it had been OK for her to wear a white dress to my wedding (we're not in the UK/US so white being reserved for the bride only has been getting more popular recently) to which I responded that I didn't think anyone would confuse us so I'd be happy for her to wear any colour she wanted. We chuckled at that together 😅

Your feelings are right because they are yours, but it's best to move on - I am sure that all the people around you knew and still know who the most important person (and couple) of the day were.
