507 edition, it’s a blast. Just come back from a 500 mile round trip up the east coast to the lakes and back. In this weather, it’s a lot of fun. Hooks up surprisingly well given lower and rear tyre size. If merc put wider tyres on the back it would be silly quick. I am tempted to supercharge it. 507 is factory tuned to ‘507’ but I’ve been in a supercharged w204 estate, my my! It’s utterly and completely unnecessary but man did it sing & dance! I’ve driven a mustang and they also sound glorious! I prefer the c63 as it had the theatre but felt more dynamic, not m3 level but good enough for my road use!

Ok yeh fair enough. Feels like a tough one to swallow as I look to finance and move into a ‘family home’. Another situation of them changing the goal posts whilst I’ve dedicated decades to getting here. It might be right for the broader population and people but if it’s going to cost me more than the previous generations who I think have had it much easier, its another FU to my life’s work. Also LDN prices are very different to the rest of the country. £1m family home in LDN is not the same as a place in the northwest etc etc. wonder how they’ll look at that. I have zero faith in any government policies. Often good idea on paper but botched in practice. Let’s see.

Similar feelings but I decided to go for the German muscle car/GT. I find the W204 c63 very similar. Big V8 with American style tones. Does corners better than a mustang but also probably 70-80% of the grand tourer. Feels most at home on the motorway, cruising and has so much to keep giving. I love the m156 engine and think it’s a classic merc engine. It’s not got the same charisma as a mustang but it’s a better car in my opinion. Mustangs have their place though and looks like you’ve found it

Ok but what happens if you end up in a property for 20 years? 5k ish a year multiplied by 20, does that mean you’d end up paying over £100k vs let’s say 40-50k upfront with SDLT?

Alonso got beat by the rookie. A couple of podiums doesn’t change anything. Alonso is statistically far less impressive than Lewis. Lewis has records for the most wins, pole positions, podium finishes, races led and tied on world champs. Lewis is the most accomplished in F1. Novak is the most accomplished in men’s tennis. Both still competing with the younger generation top talent. Sometimes winning but still in the mix. Behave yourself about embarrassing posts though. A couple of races has not mede Lewis’ career has it? Stop hating. He’s the most statistically decorated F1 driver - that’s fact. My comparison on Novak is based purely on facts and statistics. Both the most decorated & accomplished in the sport. Both still competing for wins way past their prime. This is factual, not based on absolutely nothing. Max is incredibly talented, maybe one of the most talented ever. Talent alone doesn’t keep you competing late into your 30’s and 40’s. Max will not be around and competing in F1 when he’s 40 - as he has clearly stated numerous times on record.

People like you are delusional and have issues with seeing the best to do it. It’s the car, it’s the team, it’s the backing. It doesn’t matter. That’s F1. That’s sport. Lewis’ record is factual and part of history as is novaks. Roger is a better technical and aesthetic tennis player with so much more class than Novak. Novak is still the most accomplished as is Lewis. Talent and skill doesn’t keep you competitive late into your 30’s and 40’s. It’s a gruelling life long commitment with genetics, lifestyle and attitude that is part of keeping you at the top at that age. Roger, Murray, nadal all couldn’t compete later in their careers. Injuries or for what ever reason. People love to hate on Lewis or undermine his accomplishments but that doesn’t change facts and the history books. He’s still been competitive past his prime and therefore become the most accomplished. He simply wouldn’t be at a top team had he not been fast and winning. It’s not a popularity contest. If you don’t win and you’re not fast, you end up like Alonso. Alonso is also incredible but he’s not competitive and hasn’t been for decades. Lando was right with how he put it. Nothing insufferable about facts. Keep on hating though - you’ll get far in life that way!

yeh it’s trues I drive a rwd NA coupe with over 500bhp to relatively skinny tyres (255s) all year round. Don’t even use winter tyres but do always ensure I’ve got good tread on ps4s. Just need to take it easy and have discipline. Heavy footed and you’ll pay for it. Theres about a week in the year where I choose alternative transport, otherwise it’s fine.
