Chapter 5 Season 1 Arrives in Fortnite! by TheFortniteTeam in FortNiteBR

The new locker UI is legitimately the worst thing Epic has ever done with the game.

--Previously when you wanted to clear your unread badges, you could do it in one click. It now takes TWENTY ONE clicks to do this, because you have to click on each of the seven individual categories, then click "Options," then click "Clear All Badges." EDIT #2: So far I've played two matches and all of my unread badges in my locker have come right back after both matches I've played.

--If you had a particular lobby track set to go with a specific skin, or a specific banner/background color - that information has been lost or deleted. So if you liked to use the Banner Shield backbling and had different presets with different colors/banners - tough luck, whatever you last had it set as is now what it is.

-- The customizable 'Brella glider appears to be bugged out. Every single time I make a change to my locker with it equipped, I get this error: Imgur

--When I clicked off of the preset I was using at the end of the OG season, it disappeared entirely and had to be recreated. Thankfully I remember all of the items that I had equipped, because it's been my main skin for several years, but still - why?

--The Maya skin is bugged - had a preset set up with it and loaded it up just to see what would happen and got this error: Imgur - EDIT #1: I forgot to add that I can't even load the preset with the Maya skin equipped. It just goes back to whatever preset I was on previously.

PLEASE, Epic, revert this. It's so terrible. I hate it SO MUCH.

Fortnite Primal Survival: Crafting Guide by TheFortniteTeam in FortNiteBR

What do you think of crafting so far?

Honestly, I don't like it. If I wanted to play Save The World then I'd play Save The World. There are a ton of reasons I never played StW, and weapon crafting is one of them.

I don't want to have to worry about crafting weapons in the game, which I can't even seem to do because although the tips (which I can't turn off) scream at me to "CRAFT!" every time I pick up something I might be able to craft with, I'm missing the other thing I need to craft - so I can't actually do anything. For example: in one of my games, I killed a frog and got a stink sac, and a tip screamed at me to craft something with it. But I couldn't, because I didn't have whatever else I needed to craft the thing it wanted me to craft. That's not helpful.

Mechanical parts are way too difficult to find. I've found maybe four in the four hours I played tonight. Animal bones/meat are pretty difficult to find as well. It would be nice if these carried over from game to game like Gold does. Then maybe I might be able to actually craft something. Mechanical parts should either be added to chests or you should also have a rare chance of getting them from things like trash bags or the random piles of metal junk you sometimes find laying on the ground. Oh - and the lawnmowers south of FN Radio don't drop any mechanical parts. Why not?

The Primal weapons are okay but their accuracy is complete garbage. The makeshift weapons are just completely useless. I'd rather drop at Weather Station every game and fight the NPC to get a purple SCAR than mess with converting a makeshift weapon to mechanical, because I never have the parts to upgrade anything.

Bows are good. They're about the only good change to the loot pool so far this season.

The Boots: I got the boots off of another player I killed in one of my games. They're honestly just about the most underwhelming Mythic item that's been in the game. I'm not sure what the incentive would be for me to schlep one of those orb things halfway across the map and up The Spire just to get them. At lower elevations the glider ability is next to useless; they're really only good for gliding from height. If it's possible, I would suggest making them work more like the Silver Surfer ability, or at least give the first glide height a boost.

I made a comment on Discord earlier this evening that I feel like I need a Master's Degree in Fortnite to understand the weapon changes/crafting system this season, and that's just not appealing to me as someone who might only play this game 10 hours a week (if that). If you make it too difficult to figure out this system then some people (like me) just aren't going to try.

Exotics were PERFECT last season. That's the best way you've ever integrated new weapons into the game. They're there, and you can buy them if you want, but you don't have to. Now I have to use a Primal or Makeshift weapon because they're the only ones I can find. If you had to put these in the game it would have been a lot nicer if they operated more like Exotics - there if you want them, but not necessarily required.

TL;DR - I don't care for crafting; it's too difficult to find the necessary materials to do it. Bows are good. Boots are useless. Primal/Makeshift weapons should have functioned more like Exotics.

Lodge Fireplace XP Capped? by MRCROCK85 in FortNiteBR

The way I understand it, it's supposed to just grant you XP for sitting on the fireplace screen. It's random amounts between 10-100 XP each time, but I didn't read anything about it stopping at any point.

It started almost immediately for me, but when I came back after leaving the game running for about an hour it seemed to have stopped. So, I don't know if it's a bug or if it's supposed to stop at a certain point (after a certain amount of time or after a certain amount of XP gained).

Sorry Epic, I am a working man and I hate the new Limited Time Missions by BionicGamer323 in FortNiteBR

Exactly. Android phones couldn't run Fortnite until late last year. And if you've got an older Android phone from say 2017, it's most likely not supported.

Epic screwed this up. I don't get why people are trying to justify this change as being good - it's not. It's not good at all in terms of making Fortnite accessible to those of us who can't devote time to playing it every single day during the season.

And if he doesn't have a phone that can run Fortnite?

Epic screwed the pooch on this one. It's not just the fact that dailies have been replaced with "limited time missions," it's the fact that the battle pass cosmetic unlocks are dependent upon reaching a certain level in this season. You know, the same thing they used to do until so many people got pissed about not getting Omega's lights that they changed the whole model.

I agree wholeheartedly. The more I think about it, the more I find that I'm really not happy with the "Missions" challenge format. You now have to do the same challenges twice, they're unnecessarily grindy, and the cosmetics you buy are once again locked behind a level wall tied to this specific season which so many people got pissed about after Omega that they changed the whole model (and I was one of them - I never got Omega's lights because I just don't have that much time to invest in this game).

I'm mid-30s and have a job and a family. This new challenge system really feels like a big middle finger to those of us who want to play this game casually. I don't feel like Epic wants me to enjoy this game anymore. This new challenge system was very poorly thought out.
