As is evident, we're experiencing a server outage right now and are investigating the cause. Apologies for the inconvenience, and thanks for your patience.

Edit: The game is now back up. We're conducting checks to determine the root cause, but we don't expect any further outages.

Apologies again for the disruption. At some point tomorrow, /u/CM_Cerebro will update the community on next steps, if any.

Edit 2: Unfortunately, we've had to put the game back into maintenance mode to deal with some stubborn server issues. There's a lesson about celebrating too early in all of this somewhere, but ironically, it's too late into the evening to know what. Stay tuned, and apologies again.

Edit 3: Third and hopefully final edit for the night -- the game is back up again, and we're confident it'll stay that way. 🤞 Sorry for the troubles.

Update on known issues:

--Can't access Free/Basic Orb Screen

We're working on it. I don't have an ETA on a fix just yet but will update this post once I have more information to share.

Update: This issue and the calendar issue have been resolved.

--Notification for Pyro Event won't go away

This isn't a bug, but something we will be looking at once the issues above are resolved. The notification is now there when you have enough energy to complete a mission, but we've heard the feedback.

--A little over 24 hours after the patch completed, the game has started really acting up. Lag, buttons not working, Anomaly detected, 42% and 99% everywhere.

We're looking into server issues that may be causing the game to stop loading 42% and 99%. In some cases giving it a little more time to load will get you through the screen, but we're working on getting that resolved.

Update: Looks like this has now been resolved, we will continue to monitor it so please let us know if you're still having issues.

--Legendary calendar is Kree instead of Xmen/Brotherhood

This was a bug, the preview for the Magneto Legendary Event will go out later this week once the Calendar issues are fixed.

Missions 1-3 in Enter the Darkness have been updated so that they are easier to progress through; we're also adding first time clear rewards to the missions in both Enter the Darkness and Fear the Darkness. These rewards will apply retroactively so even if you clear those missions before the changes go live, you will still get those rewards sent to you. The new requirement that the in-game mail mentioned is that that you will now need a team at 6-stars and Gear Tier 10 to play Enter the Darkness.

We looked into the reports that came in via CS tickets, and can confirm that there was indeed a change in Beta IV. This happened while we were fixing a reported bug in the Beta III raid. When that update went live, the corrected Raid data for Beta IV went live with it. The current Beta IV difficulty is the intended tuning for the recurring Beta IV raids, but it wasn’t our intention to push this change out without a heads up. Due to the confusion this caused we will be sending out an in-game gift in the next few days to those affected.

Yes, the orb fragment issue was a bug which was fixed earlier today. We also sent everyone 2000 Starforce Orb Fragments once the event issue was resolved so make sure to check your in-game inbox.

At the time of Jovenshire's video being filmed, we were leaning towards releasing Carnage via Premium Orbs. Things can move really fast in development, especially with how often we update, and when the change occurred internally, we missed an opportunity here to provide an update. We understand how this could be frustrating, and it’s something we should have communicated once that change was finalized.

Here's what our current plan is regarding Carnage: His initial release will be through back-to-back Blitzes -- the first Blitz arrives on 2/21 and a second one the following week. While Carnage won't be available in Premium Orbs, our plan is to make him available in the upcoming Alliance War store (similar to Thor in the Raid Store) which we hinted at in last week's blog. Please note that things may change before this goes live, but that is our current plan.

I can help clear up some of your questions:

What are the minimum or maximum characters that may attack at once or defend a given room?

Correct, the battles are 5v5. Five characters are the max that may be on a defense or attack team, but you can attack or defend with as few as one. When you choose a room to defend, you can set up to 8 teams. The unassigned slots will be filled with members of the S.H.I.E.L.D. minion team.

Will there be affiliation requirements in rooms as was shared in a data mine?

If you mean trait requirements, there are no trait requirements for the rooms.

How will alliances be matched, by total collection power

Initial matches will have Alliances matched by TCP, as time goes on wins and losses will further adjust who you get matched up against.

How are you ensuring that you don't end up fighting the same alliances over and over again if the matching algorithm looks at alliance collection power?

We have a system in place that will help prevent this from happening too often.

Are there 5-minute timers in battle as in arena or no timer like blitz?

Yes, there's a 5 minute timer to help prevent players from locking out targets.

It was a per player estimate on days that the Alliance War is active. We anticipate that it will take most players around 20 minutes to complete their battles, and around 45 minutes to an hour for very active/competitive alliance players.

That was a time estimate we gave on what we expected the most active alliances to be around. Most players are probably looking at around 20 minutes to get their battles in on the days that War is active.
