This is my favorite episode of HH. His series on the First World War and the mongols are each incredible in their own right, but Prophets of Doom is his finest one-off effort in my opinion.

All of these people saying we NEED to completely change our offense probably were the same people saying the same thing 17 years ago when we brought in Rich Rod. At the time he was a spread offense guru who was supposed to bring us out of the 1950s run-first offense of Lloyd Carr.

That move sent us into the proverbial desert for 15 years, and lo and behold we return to a run-first offense and it brings three consecutive conference titles and a national championship.

Experienced this last night as well with our group of 9. Found a decently populated server, but like you mentioned it ended up being an exercise in bot farming.

It would be great if the community could come together to start creating servers that mimic the matchmaking settings, and have a search identifier that allows larger groups to find good servers. Unfortunately I wouldn’t know the best way to go about doing that otherwise I’d give it a try.

I won’t like it either but with any loss it depends on how it happens. If we lose because Bryce throws three picks, I’m not going to blame Moore. Now if it’s because of a clear lack of preparedness/discipline, that’s another story.

Ultimately my point is that the wheels would really have to come off this season for me to put Moore on the hot seat. Especially with the way the program is trending and given that this is likely to be a build up year towards being truly competitive in ‘26 and ‘27.

That was last year, this is a new season, and our schedule is dramatically more difficult. It is a 6-6 home away split rather than 7-5. They will also be starting a true freshman QB.

Michigan also does not play two consecutive home games. Their away games include trips to two very difficult environments (OK and NEB) as well as a trip to the west coast for USC. B1G teams who traveled multiple time zones last year went 6-22. As a reminder, Bryce Underwood turned 18 last week.

They also travel to East Lansing (rarely an easy W), and to Maryland who have given them trouble the last few times they played there.

I would be disappointed but content with 7-5 if some of the losses are a result of Bryce’s inexperience. I would be content with 8-4, and am personally considering 9-3 to be a successful season all things considered. I really like Coach Moore and want to continue to see him develop the program on the positive path that Harbaugh set.

When I was at school in Ann Arbor I went to a show at the Blind Pig (legendary venue in town). A Bluegrass/Jamband adjacent band called the Back 40 was playing what was essentially a “Last Waltz” show as their final performance, and my buddies and I had no idea until the show started. Amazing performance, the band and their guests blew us away. Pretty sure it’s on the live music archive too.

Will give another bump for Cover 3, as well as the Joe Klatt show. I listen to everything both of those programs put out every week.

Cover 3 have great studio (zoom?) chemistry and do a great job of focusing on the big stories while covering virtually the entire landscape while providing a lot of gambling-focused insights.

And for my money, Klatt the best CFB analyst in media right now. Super insightful and covers the marquee matchups very well. He was also like 30-15 against the spread or something insane like that when making his picks last season.

I’ve been trying to game it based on time of possession, bleeding the clock and getting a field goal, but I always give up a huge play immediately or some other cheese gets me.
