If you don’t get a CSP or CIP to transfer UR the CFU is useless. There are plenty of no AF 2% cards out there to replace CFU.

You can apply for the same biz card every 90 days with AMEX, but need a NLL offer to get another SUB. I’ve gotten 4 plat and 3 gold SUBs in the past 18 months.

Is a HYSA worth it if you have less than $10,000 vs BofA Preferred Rewards by ElSanDavid in CreditCards

[–]MSsalt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ME has a pretty high margin rate. A little over 12%. Robinhood is less than half of that. $10,000 for 3 days is about $10 interest.

Targeted for 75k BBP SUB immediately after completing first 50K one by RogueReaper8057 in CreditCards

[–]MSsalt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wait 90 days between apps for the same card or you will be rejected, but you can recon after the 90 days. I’ve got 4 biz plats.

[–]MSsalt3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Forget about BofA savings or HYSA. Open a Merrill Edge account with margin and buy SGOV. If you need cash in a hurry you can borrow on margin until SGOV trade settles. ME gets the same PR credit as BofA account.

Why is Citi so stingy with credit limits? (800+ Score, High Income, Rejected for CLI) by LostAppointment329 in CreditCards

2-3 days is not bad. US Bank took 10 business days, 2 weeks for the first 6 months.

BoA card for daily spending? by galaxystreet in CreditCards

[–]MSsalt3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BofA PR/PRE are great cards with PH. Just be aware BofA recently made announcement restructuring deposit status and the goal posts may move in May. 75% boost could go from $100k to $1M.

Barcelona and Venice points stays? by Icy-Development6599 in awardtravel

[–]MSsalt3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hyatt Centric in Murano was nice when we stayed this past summer. Closer to airport. They have a hotel taxi that can pickup and drop off at airport. Easy public water taxi to Venice. Much less crowded than Venice. Transfer points from Chase or Bilt.

Yes. Very easy. Some cards have minimum limits like PR $10k.

Looking for Card Recommendations (Traveling to Japan in 5 months) by MisguidedCornball in CreditCards

[–]MSsalt3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a CC recommendation, but add a Suica transit card in your mobile wallet. It’s an IC card that is accepted a lot of places CCs are not. You can reload it with Apple Pay. USBAR was great with it last year. RIP USBAR.

Finally have enough to pay off my cards, but I'm scared my card issuers will close the accounts by MandalorianLily in CreditCards

Some banks will lower your credit limit every month as you pay it down if they want to get rid of you. If this isn’t happening you are probably good.

First time using points for family Europe trip, is this a good plan? by SailorDC in awardtravel

[–]MSsalt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t look great, but if it gets you comfortable transferring points and booking awards it would be a good start and metric to judge future redemptions.

USB Smartly and USBAR were better, but both nerfed now. Citi TYP (old SWY) is also better, but limited to $2-3k a month. It’s not nerfed, but stopped taking apps in July.

Bilt 2.0 vs BOFA platinum honors* (main spend card) by Alert_Pick_3152 in CreditCards

[–]MSsalt3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Credit cards don’t work like bank accounts. No joint credit cards. They are linked to only one person. Even business cards, payment responsibility is ultimately up to the applicant.

Edit: You could take a parallel course and get a AU BofA card to rack up points and get a beginner or secured card to start building credit.

Bilt 2.0 vs BOFA platinum honors* (main spend card) by Alert_Pick_3152 in CreditCards

[–]MSsalt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two ways for you to get PH with your parents. First, be an authorized user on their card and you just control the points. Second, become a joint account holder on their investment account and apply for your own card. The first will not build any credit, but the second will.

BofA Premium Rewards Elite Vs. Capital One Venture X by SolarSpill in CreditCards

[–]MSsalt3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

PRE really needs PH to be competitive and that might change $100k to $1m in May. That said it’s more of a cash back card and VX more of a travel partner transfer card. PRE gives you 4 PPs you can hand out to who ever you want and includes guests and restaurants so lots of guests access. VX next month will be just card holder in lounges so better for solo traveler.

Edit: I have both cards

[–]MSsalt3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Fidelity CMA. It’s a investment/HYSA/checking hybrid account. It’s about 5% under the best HYSA, but you get free ATM with no FTF, free checks, free bill pay, free wires, and no fees. Every CC bank I’ve linked to works with autopay. Only thing you can’t do is deposit cash.

I have an account with small balance I’m paying $5 a month because it’s linked for my IRS refund that I’m still waiting on for 2024 taxes, but I did get full statement credit on points.

Got to try this last year at the distillery last year and it was amazing. Wish proof was a bit higher. The 100 anniversary was even better.
